You decide to send the raven you had at the hackers' location after the address for Site 1. You give it instructions to eat and rest as necessary, and be careful about attention... but otherwise, start making its way toward where the door is alleged to be.

You hug Jury, and thank her. She hugs you back, and though it still needs work, she does seem to be getting better at it.

You also tell Jury to be careful. Thale can turn people into monsters after oversyncing them (or even part of them, with some asterisks), so security around the hackers needs to be on their A game. You also bring up the feds having a device that tests blood for alien presence--it could be a good start to getting answers out of them, one way or another.

Jury nods, and thanks you again before she heads off.

Now, Let's see how much tired we are, and ask everyone if they have something they want to take care today.

I'm kinda wondering what we would get if we traded up a bunch of cellphones. Would be nice if we didn't have to leave the bunker to get cell reception.
Reiko Lupus 29th Apr 2018, 5:32 PM edit delete reply
...Go to hell every other suggestion, even mine. We need to try this XD.

Maybe a handful of burner phones or something, not our primary ones, but I'd totally like to see what happens too

We need to check out the intranet network and see if it passes data from bunker to bunker, if it does, then we can get some cell phone repeaters and whichever bunker gets reception will service the bunkers, potentially on Mars too.

Hello. I’ve been gone for awhile, and binged to catch up. A few things I’ve noticed: 1. when we consulted the tradesmen the first time and asked about the most useful bunker, they said it could be any of the 8 remaining bunkers. I could be misinterpreting, but this seems to say, and our findings since then support this, that the most useful bunker under any definition had not yet been found. 2. When we asked what was behind the door with the monster and what we could do about it, we were asked for Willard. Compare for asking exactly what thale was doing, which requires altering reality. This tells me that what is behind the door is either less dangerous than we thought, or, what I think is more likely and we should assume this is the answer anyway, whatever is there is so dangerous or versatile that learning exactly what it was and how to stop it would not do much to it, relatively. 3, and arguably most important: Carpenter may be the larger villain after this is all over. Evidence: firstly, he has shown a supernatural awareness of our operations. This is shown in him being genuinely suspicious of us being in the bunkers while even Patton Thale dismisses the notion as well as him always showing up to mess with us. Secondly, we have yet to deal any major blows to him. Sure, he’s working with Patton, but we have pretty much proved that he has his own agenda. Also, we’ve only destroyed robots, and dismantled attacks. Attacks that have been strangely well timed, I reiterate. Thirdly, we recently learned of a technology race that would forcibly augment humanity. Carpenter has a disturbing similarity to this ideology , and most importantly, he had access to Nil. Nil has demonstrated a substantial amount of power, and Carpenter was the one who had access to him. Patton Thale may be the immediate threat, but I suspect Carpenter will persist until the next, which may very well have to deal with Nil and the other gods.

1 yes, we need more processing to access the other bunkers

2 the entities (plural) are dangerous,
A wealth of information that indicates we do not need to go there now or anytime soon.
Yes the price being an emotionally attached pet indicates the other side of that door is either not important or will not change how things go.

Last Carpenter is oddly appearing, yes. Self improvement might be part, maybe his connection with nil is feeding him "improvements " which makes him much more dangerous over time.

What I meant on the first one was that they apparently gave free information that the eight bunkers contain the most useful bunkers. Obviously bunker x is one of them, but which of the others is also in the running?
Allwarden47 29th Apr 2018, 9:11 PM edit delete reply
I was also saying that us knowing what is on the door would not effect whatever lies there, not just in the context of our plans. Basically, it’s dangerous enough that knowing what to do about it would help, given there being a fairly hefty cost, but not enough to actually enable any action on said being(s). Sayyyy. Sayyyyyyyy. What if, hear me out, we astral projected and scouted it out?
pkrankow 29th Apr 2018, 9:14 PM edit delete reply
We may not be able to pass through the door. We cannot pass through our bunker. It is worth experimenting before trying this on that little platform... but I do not feel it is really necessary to investigate past that door.
Ablaze 29th Apr 2018, 9:57 PM edit delete reply
Could you use the error room to access the other side of the blocked door? (Go into error room, then move door). Unless I'm missremembering how we got into the error room...

Oh Jury, we're so proud. This gives hope for Elizabeth too. Even if she doesn't hug us back, she'll at least come a step closer to learning how with each one.

Personal energy assessment and actions depending on that:
♥♥♥♥ - Give astral projection a try in front of the door leading to the ghosts in Bunker E.
♥♥♥ - Make bone armour.
♥♥ - Work on Elizabeth.
EDIT x2: Actually, if Michelle and/or Caius aren't busy, they should probably do this. If we're too tired to do any of the above, we should just rest - Lunch plans. I'm thinking tacos. Also as long as we're out, I'm liking the trade-up ritualing burner phones to see if we can get one that'll work in the bunker. We keep missing so many important calls in here.
To add to that shopping list we need to get more bandages for trading-up super bandages again. Also let's get a tarp/blanket we can throw over any ritual circles in case Jury needs to come in in a hurry and a cheap book jacket for a fake cover for GAC (if not just make one from a paper bag via arts & crafts).
Also if we're doing trade rituals, trade up flesh golems for another Mini-Jane to see if the Tradesmen will clothes-coordinate them.
EDIT: Also, if we've got the funds and someone wants to join us as a shopping buddy, we could look into mass buying raw computer parts. Like, as-cheap-as-we-can-get stuff Fuse can put together into barely working computers that we can mass-trade-up into a hopefully awesome super computer. But only if we've got the funds for it.
(Yeesh, for low-energy that turned out to be a long list...)
Reiko Lupus 29th Apr 2018, 8:16 PM edit delete reply
Well, even if it is a long list, this things requiere almost no energy to do XD.
But I must say that, if we are going to make Golems, then we must try to do something like mosquitoes. You know, so we can inject our Blood without much effort XD. Can you notice one of that little nightmares before they got your Blood if they come from behind you? But this time, they are going to inject you with Blood XD. And even if a person can spot one and Kill it... What about a Swarm? XD.
Ablaze 29th Apr 2018, 9:58 PM edit delete reply
What if you "upgraded" a swarm of blooded mosquitoes?
Reiko Lupus 29th Apr 2018, 10:31 PM edit delete reply
That'll be AWESOME.
pkrankow 29th Apr 2018, 8:30 PM edit delete reply
I really like the trading up burner phones idea. We need to run it like 4x

Trading up for a supercomputer sounds good. Hit up the thrift stores and pawn shops for like a dozen machines that work.

Remember we have 2 cities to shop in.

Practice moving mass via portals between Jane and MJ.
Practice making a pocket we can store things in.
Swagner 29th Apr 2018, 10:03 PM edit delete reply
Maybe just use a regular golem so we don't break our miniature version?
Ablaze 29th Apr 2018, 10:05 PM edit delete reply
With a better computer, you could compute the door keys faster! Actually if you want to go really cheap, just buy a bunch of old cpus and sticks of ram. The upgraded parts should be compatible with your current computer.
