Morgenstern
You sleep in a little bit... and given that breakfast is still around when you get up, you're pretty sure everyone else did, too. You have scrambled eggs, and though the first long bit of conversation is mostly small talk and relief over not having to deal with the hackers... eventually, the conversation turns to Ilworth.

"We own the town," Fuse says. "We got supplies for the Mars gang, some of the houses are in good shape... we're good to go."

"Except," Michelle comments, "we still ain't got power there. We gotta rig somethin' up with Ilworth's power station."

"We do have plans for that," Dr. Finch states. "...But it involves the additional power from Bunker E, and I would feel much better utilizing said power after Faraday's conundrum is resolved. I... do not feel comfortable using that bunker's reserve energy while Faraday is still providing it."

"Which is fair," Michelle says. "I get it, and you're right. The power that's already been drained from her'll still be there after we get her turned back to normal. It's kinda messed up to be usin' it before we fix her."

"We wouldn't be much better than Zone Fifty, at that point," Fuse mutters. "So... we need to hash out the Faraday situation. Where are we on that?"

"Astral projectin' works," Caius says. "I ain't good at it, but I bet Blondie would be."

Dr. Finch nods. "She has a better grip on her own body, to put it layman's terms. She's dabbled with neurological impulses and other forms of biological electricity when she was attempting to power our camera back up. I... believe if she can master being a ghost herself, we may make progress regarding Faraday. It's... mostly a hunch, at this point."

Caius shrugs. "I was able to make myself visible for a second or two. There's no tellin' what someone with Blondie's skills could do with it."

"But then what?" Fuse asks. "So she gets good at ghosting. Where do we go from there...?"

Dr. Finch adjusts his glasses... hesitating slightly. "That, I am... still working on, unfortunately. I was hoping we may make some discovery or reach some insight at that stage. We're very much playing this one by ear, as much as it pains me to admit."

"Once we get Faraday sorted," Michelle says, "we can work on gettin' the power back up in Ilworth... and after that, we can move Z and them outta Mars and prob'ly worry about it less."

"Working on worrying less is a good idea," Fuse says. "I'm going to call Lydia today, see what's going on with them."

"I may consult Pierce more about the book," Dr. Finch states, "if I don't become too preoccupied monitoring the ghost situation. Now that I'm beginning to understand the concepts better, some pure, actual reading may give me the additional help I need to make a breakthrough."

"Restocking supplies would also be advisable," Elizabeth points out. "You expended some of your better equipment--the bone armor, the reinforced bandages, and so forth--during yesterday's events. It sounds as though you have other priorities, but I suggest keeping it in mind."

Speaking of other priorities, we still need to hug the tradesman in Bunker X, as i assume it is a real tradesman and not an effigy.

Also, while an astral projection, we need to hug Tesla, and practice expanding ourselves to hug Faraday down to size.

Space suits when talking to them should help.

There's been a lot going on and I've been barely keeping up, sorry senpai @_@

Sounds like practicing astral projection is a go? Seems to me if we get a grip on it proper, we can probably usher and squeeze Faraday down to size with sheer presence. Maybe.

It seems like we may need to try astral projection with Jane, then. Hopefully it'll give us some sort of inspiration. I'm a little concerned about it due to Jane's "soul" being a little... harder to fit into a human body than human souls, so it might be difficult to get *back* just as it was difficult to stop being The Blood... but then again, that might also give us the most insight into Faraday's situation.

While we're doing that, we could have someone else trade some more bandages and such.

Bunker X, astral projection, making new stuff. In that order.
Blue_Elite 26th Apr 2018, 9:59 PM edit delete reply
Definitely make new armour BEFORE Bunker X.

Second making new (and upgraded) armor before bunker X.

Well, nobody wants to rest XD. For now, Let's practice the Astral Projection, and after that let's make some new Bone Armors.
Blue_Elite 26th Apr 2018, 9:58 PM edit delete reply
Man, never realized how long Elizabeth's legs were until now. Also that low-cut top seems... bold of her (granted, maybe she just doesn't really care).
That pink-heart shirt looks adorable on Jane. I wonder... if we do another golem ritual now, will we get a pink-heart shirt Mini-Jane? We'll have to try that at some time (we can start a collection!).
EDIT: Also, Elizabeth and Jane have the same posture. Both have the forward-leaning, "peg leg," and straight arm look.

Looks like Fuse and Dr. Finch are going to be busy. If we can help with Dr. Finch's research that'd be the way to go. Otherwise if it's just a matter of him reading and discussing with Pierce, our next step should probably be to replace that bone armour while we have Caius and Michelle here to do proper fitting.
If after that we've still got time to kick around, we could really crackdown on working out Elizabeth's physique more.

The only things I'm against for today are Bunker X (we decided today will be a rest-up and non-combat day) and Jane performing any magic herself that's not astral projection. We need to save her... I guess I'll call it, "Mana," for practicing that spell and utilizing her ghost form. Given what happened to Caius, she's going to need to save all the strength she can.

We know Elizabeth and the others of her series had their movement patterns designed after observations of Jane's mother. If their posture is similar, one can reasonably guess Blondie picked up some of her own mannerisms from mom while growing up.

So then we take care of the Astral Projection(preferably in the bunker with Tesla and Faraday), and then make the new stuff? And, again, we REALLY need to bring up the point of fortifying our hold on the Bunkers. We need to be prepared for when, NOT if, Carpenter and/or Thale realize that we're hiding here, and move to attack us. They'll find us here eventually, Carpenter sooner than Thale, and we need to be ready.

I say supplies first just on the grounds of being prepared for anything and everthying going wrong while we do everything else.

I wonder if Fuse being more psychic than he thinks he is would make him better at astral projection than most.

I have to wonder if Fuse trying astral projection would show him the face of god or some other strange shit, given his other already apparent advantages. Fuse is a whole bottle full of unknown potential waiting to erupt. Finch hinted at it here, Jane should question it out right.

While I'm not against any idea's here in particular, I think Bunker-X shouldn't be so removed from the list of options. To much to gain.

Personally, I still think Elizabeth should go first, and solo, specifically because of the potential growth, prize be damned. Out of all these characters, she NEEDS the personal growth.

you... you realize she can't leave until she finishes the floor, right? and that floor is likely to be some sort of bizarre boss fight? she has zero combat ability. she's said so herself on multiple occasions.

this sounds like a real good way to get her killed.

My line of thought on this one is close to the idea of personalized testing. Higher beings have taken notice, and Bunker-X is designed to test our hero's accordingly. I don't think any particular floor actually exists until the first attempt is made. If I'm right, the test will reflect the abilities and defects of the individual(s) making the run. Therefor, if Elizabeth goes solo, combat is highly unlikely. Instead, it will more of a psychological challenge, which will be good for her if she doesn't have a complete melt down.

I admit, this is strictly based on my interpretation of what was said by the tradesmen. ...and maybe Fuzes "video game" comment...
Warp 27th Apr 2018, 7:16 AM edit delete reply
The Tradesmen in Bunker X was explicitly clear that these were challenges set up for Jane, and the challenges arranged against Jane do not change per "floor". It's going to be a series of gladiators and puzzles, based on various alien spirit-things think will best us and either trap us in Bunker X or kill us in trying.

Again, to reiterate, the challenges are static and pre-set per floor, whoever goes in and whatever tools we bring with them does not change the challenge we face, or the order we face them in.
