You tell Faraday not to worry, and assure her that you and your friends are working on resolving her... uh, situation. You confirm that both Edison and Tesla are safe--Tesla's back in the facility, and Edison's... being contained, for the moment, as she's been a bit rowdy lately.

"Thank you so much," she says. "I... I want to help, but I can't seem to do much of anything like this."

You ask Faraday: if you managed to bring something she could focus herself into, so to speak... would that help?

"I don't rightly know," she replies. "I can't focus on much at all, really. S'like everything's all far away and really really close at the same time. I can't keep my eyes on anything--I don't have any eyes, but I'm all eyes. Does that make sense? Same for touching--I'm touching everything, but not really. It's hard to keep up... hard to keep track of time."

You also ask about the "no electronics" sign out front, and if Faraday knows why it's there.

"At first the doctors were scared we'd take over things and escape," she says. "After I turned into this, though, I started frying everything. On accident! I didn't mean to. They hoped they could put me in a phone or some such, but it never worked."

That was also over a century ago. Dollars to doughnuts, the ability of technology to take more strain has to have improved in the intervening period. We need to check up on what's used in high-volatility environments these days, because we may get far luckier than Faraday realizes.

... Also, we should probably see if she realizes how long it's been.

That's a good point - does Faraday realize it's been upwards of a century?

Ask Faraday why this particular screen is different - why she can use it without it frying. Is it just because it's made to handle the voltage, or...?

Poke Fuse and ask him if he thinks he'd be able to make a TV/monitor or at least a microphone or some such that would be highly resistant to being fried.

Come to the realization that Faraday's powering of the bunker may the only reason Lasker didn't end up dethawing due to power running out.

pretty sure it is because we repaired it with more resistant materials

We should bring fuse and finch here and ask Michelle if we can get Tesla out of here containement cell to let her talk to Faraday
Twyll 9th Apr 2018, 4:04 PM edit delete reply
Let's not bring Fuse-- if Faraday accidentally overloads electronics, then bringing his leg in here is a *bad* idea.
L-Bomb 9th Apr 2018, 4:26 PM edit delete reply
But modern components are superior to anything Faraday previously came into contact with and Fuse's prosthetic is military grade so it's probably better than most. If Fuse, Dr. Finch and Michelle all think his leg can take it, it's probably okay. If not, then it's too risky.

But are they better enough? While its probable a combat grade prosthesis is hardened enough to deal with whatever inductance faraday is putting out, we should definitly try with other equipment first.

Let's look for high voltage stuff and also bring Edison in after we can get Faraday to talk to Tesla.
Twyll 9th Apr 2018, 4:06 PM edit delete reply
Let's not worry about bringing in Edison just yet. She's safely contained right now, and as far as we know, she's essentially asleep and not sensing the passage of time right now, so it's no rush to wake her up.

Let Faraday know we're working on some options to bring her size in line with something she's comfortable with.

I'm hoping there's something good in the bunker the library is directing us to and of course we have the book that's full of ghost type information that could be helpful.

If not, I still thinking using electrical shielding for the bunker and physically reducing the size should at least consolidate Faraday into a smaller space, if not giving her a higher level of cohesion.

Ask what the furthest point she she can feel is. Is she just in this bunker?
Frission 9th Apr 2018, 5:58 PM edit delete reply
And finally, ask her if there's something we can tell Tesla from her, something that'll reassure her that Faraday is okay. Something that she'd know is from her?

Also ask if she is any 'closer' after being drained of power for a hundred years. It may as simple as getting rid of enough energy to let it exist in a humanoid part of space.
