You ask about the dinner party incident.

"Am I allowed to tell her about the party?," Macland asks Shirai.

"No," Shirai replies very simply, but definitively. "Hope is a creeper. That's the short version. He and his flunkies are bastions of morality when the tithers are around and the cameras are rolling, but behind closed doors they're all trash."

You thank Macland (and Gesenai, though she can't hear you), and pull back out.

You hide your camera drone in the warehouse for now. You also ask if someone back at the base could call Lydia, and find out if she or Grizwald know anything about the warehouse.

You go to warn the Juries that, if someone not affiliated with your group comes through the front door, they should probably hide.

"IN THE EVENT THAT AN INTERLOPER ATTEMPTS TO INTERFERE WITH WITH WITH THE MISSION OF ZONE FIFTY SITE SEVENTEEN," begins Infinity, "THE STAFF OF ZONE FIFTY SITE SEVENTEEN WILL S-STOP THEM."

It takes a great deal of arguing back and forth, but eventually, you convince them that having at least one of the Juries hide in case of unwanted guests would be conducive to keeping the site maintained. If all three of them are messed up in an attempt to defend the place, you reason, then no one will be left to rebuild and do repairs. If things go bad, someone should definitely hide out and wait for it to blow over, then pick up the pieces after the danger's passed.

"THATSOUNDSREASONABLE?," Unity finally replies.

"IT MAY BE dIFFICULT TO DO NOTHING WHiLE THE REST OF THE STAFF ARE PUT IN DANGER," says Trinity, "BUT WHaT YOU ARE SUGGESTING IS RATIoNAL."

"I C-CONCEDE, ONE MEMBER OF THE STAFF WILL REMAIN REMAIN OUT OF SIGHT SHOULD A HOSTILE PRESENCE ENTER ZONE FIFTY SITE SEVENTEEN."

Lastly, you contact your own red.

You ask if Red would be able to briefly "take over" you--or even someone else--like she did the first time you were being mentally attacked by the church's brain... thing.

"I can," she says, "hijack you, at least. I don't recommend it, though... I don't see things like you do--we're the same mind, but we're very different parts of it. I could screw up being you VERY easily. I did it the first time, but... I was terrified. We were driving. Driving! I don't know how to drive, I've just... watched you do it. I was so focused on that I almost forgot about like... breathing."

Okay yeah having red hijack us is a bad plan.

Alright then, so Red control is something to be performed only in dire circumstances... though to be fair, the first time it was done was a pretty dire circumstance. With that established, it seems like a good time to contact Grizwald and Lydia to see if either of them has any info about the warehouse and just a general checkup on their well-being.

okay, first off, our red being freaked out about driving of all the things we've been through is adorable. second, I think we should give red a hug or something, seems like that was a stressful memory for her, and third, maybe talk with red about how to do certain human things, just in case she ever hijacks us in the future for any reason.

lastly, is there any chance we could convince the juries to hold onto a syringe of our blood? if someone not affiliated with us gets into the bunker/base, it might be useful to have the juries blood them for us. then again, blooding people doesn't seem to work too well anymore... what do you guys think?

Agree on hugging Red and stressing just how much we appreciate what she did back there.
Also agree on having Red practice being human. Nothing major, mainly just walking. It'd be good, if we get in a dire straight, if she was at least comfortable enough with getting our meat body to a safe place if we're mentally incapacitated.

I wouldn't mind giving the PJs a syringe or a blooded phone just so we have a means of contact like with Grizwald. For one, it'd mean not having to worry about accidentally walking in in the middle of an attack on one of our check-in visits. For two, we'd be able to get parts to fix themselves to them pronto. And for three, we'd know we should make sure no one can get into Bunker A from Bunker B.

You know what, a hug does seem warranted here.

Definitely.

Red looking good post-cleanup. Yes she just looks like us with red hair, but still kudos given where kudos are due.

What about ways of blocking or (partially) disabling the brain and then using blood abilities to compensate? We just need to be able to block and/or cancel out the suggestion the Brain Beast (I'ma go with that name rather than keep calling it the "brain thing") gives us and only just long enough to do the rescue mission and then get out of the church.
I hate to do this, but what if Jane-we doesn't go on the mission personally and just controls someone remotely. I'm hoping the Brain Beast's ability only works on actual brains and not our "thinking blood." We could try blocking motor functions like with sleep paralysis and then use blood control to perform basic movement like walking.

Mainly we need someone to function without using their brain just long enough to do the rescue mission (i.e. grab Zene's mom and get her out of there; preferably blooded just to make sure Thale can't make her kill herself).

Something I noticed is that Red seems... decidedly more human in this interaction than when we first met her. I don't know what to do with this information, but it seems important.

Seems like part of the goal with cleaning up Red. We want Red to still be Red, but Red is us and we are both human and red (alien).

Well, Jane's speaking with her through their internal link, so that discussion might actually be all sorts of terrible eldritch screeches and writhing bloody stumps with eyeballs (and a cute flower) everywhere to anyone but us.
