Morgenstern
You put a flower in Red's hair.

You hug her, and thank her.

"You don't need to thank me," she replies. "I'm you. If something happened, I'd die, too. ...I think."

You, Dr. Finch, and Fuse head back into the Mars base. You consider seeing where the tracks go, but it's already pretty late back on your planet, and you don't know what kind of danger waits at the end of the tracks. For now, you decide to wait on it. You change out of your space suits, and you grab a couple of flowers from the hall.

You head back to the main bunker, and you climb up onto the counter to put some flowers on Mom's red.

"Uhhh... everything go alright?," Michelle asks.

"Yeah," Fuse says. "We got the bodies taken care of."

"And... that?," Michelle says with a half-smile, motioning toward you and the large mouth on the wall.

Fuse shrugs. "Beats me. Just Blondie being Blondie, I guess."

You check on everyone. No one's quite sure how to approach the psychic... thing just yet, and neither are you. You decide to head to bed.

What will you do the next day?

I've been away studying some other games similar to this one, but I'm back for now!

Those other games have made me realize that the narrative here has a certain power. Whenever we explore being a humanoid abomination, there is a cost. Whenever we ignore that side too heavily, there is a cost. So as much as I'd love to dive into things like mental links and geo-angular magic, I think the solution to Blondie's problems lies in abilities any normal human would possess. Friends, wits, adrenaline. Not magic. Not blooding every useful creature we come across. It hurts because that's not at all what I'd do in this situation, but I'm not Blondie. We are.

I suggest we look into the possibility of how Zene and Crease could escape. Setting out into this larger world might be something we look into down the line, even if it's during the epilogue. Maybe we could discuss with Finch how to make the best use of our Mars real-estate. Having another planet to work with opens up our horizons a lot.

If we explore the tracks on Mars, damage to our space suits could put an end to that in a right hurry. Maybe if we found a safer way to satisfy our curiosity, with like a remote control car or something.

Oh my god we could make another Sanguine blood golem with a camera and just chill outside of the door on Mars, going in and out when needed to replenish oxygen, and we could just kinda explore in relative safety.

I like the remote car idea. It can pack a golem too. A nice off the shelf 1:8 offroad kit with a plastic bin on top,or a trailer kit, some extra cameras and a larger battery.

I don't think that's necessary, to apply trends from other stories to this one. And keep in mind that geoangular magic is a thing used by humans, too-- it's humanity's own efforts at using alien knowledge for their own, codified in a form usable by humans. I think it's necessary to find it to learn more both about our human *and* our alien sides. Our alien side, because this kind of functioning is as normal as breathing to aliens; and our human side, because it runs counter to every physical capability that humans have, and humans use it anyway.

Edit: exploring Mars via remote robot is a good idea though, let's do that.

I'm of the opinion we should be trying to embrace BOTH our humanity and eldritch sides. The current problem being our eldritch-side doesn't really like the limitations of our humanity and our human-side is afraid of what the eldritch-side will do if left unchecked (like, say, reshape us into some sort of monstrous but more "efficient" form). It's a work-in-progress and will DEFINITELY be a long, long road to achieve a balance between the two sides; but I think it's what we should be aiming for.

Dawww, Red looks so nice and clean now. And mom's Red is so adorable as well (even for a flesh-mouth in the wall). Flower-Red is best Red.

Anyway, breakfast and check the news tomorrow morning. If there are no Thale/Carpenter fires that need putting out and no new developments on the Geoangular Control and psychic defenses fronts; I'd like to look into the "much bigger list of parts" from the PJs.
We've given them the bare minimum requirements to function; if something goes wrong again, they'll just start cannibalizing themselves again (and then Unity will never be able to get her name). If the list can be broken down into smaller chunks (like say, 1 years worth of the 10 years the list will cover), it'd be good to give them something to do while we galavant around (like, say, possibly create spare drone bodies?).

Otherwise, the last bit of spelunking we've yet to do (other than Bunker C for creep-factor reasons) is the other side of Bunker B's door. Maybe we can find something useful. Still don't want to send Jane in due to the risk of awakening Lasker/Lasker-ettes; so we'd need volunteers. I hate to keep sending Michelle and Fuse but Caius is out of commission and I'd hate to send Dr. Finch out alone. Perhaps Fuse (fire powers to thaw frozen doors and robo-kicks to open stuck doors) and Dr. Finch could go.

Otherwise-otherwise, we could prepare another golem for Mars exploration. Maybe look up some blueprints online and try to make something less clunky this time.

Quick EDIT: Don't forget to ask about cat and pigeon names.

If exploring Mars is the next step, probably the safest but still utilitarian way would be something like a Malp (http://stargate.wikia.com/wiki/Mobile_Analytic_Laboratory_Probe). I can't remember, is anyone in the gang good at building stuff?

It also might be a better tactical idea to wait to mount a rescue of Zene's mother. The Church of Enya is probably anticipating a quick rescue, and it might be good to try to prepare some sort of countermeasures to the magick, which means waiting to see if Lydia and Grizwald can dig up something.

Although, since Caius is out of commission for physical stuff, maybe he can help with planning a safe house outside of TH's influence.

I think a multi-pronged approach to the giga-psychic might be the safest. We have 2 (essentially) tube-cops, they ought to be packing guns like Michelle did in the first chapter in case things go badly, so they can take it out from a distance. Meanwhile, Jane could approach it to blood it (if possible), since, while blood-thinking obviously has risks, it does provide immunity to that sort of psychic intrusion.

Unfortunately the effectiveness of blooding is proportional to the size of the creature. Blooding the psychic blob would not do much.

buy hamster ball, buy gyroscope, get camera. put gyroscope in hamster ball, put camera on gyroscope, blood everything, fill the hamster ball holes. Mars capable drone.

That could work. Putting a few wheels and motors in there would probably make it easier to control though

Try this with a party balloon first and see if it will work in a controlled environment. If a balloon can be controlled well then the idea has some merit, but if it is too difficult then we are out a balloon.

See my off the shelf RC car idea above.
