Morgenstern
You and Caius very cautiously enter the room.

You peek into the broken plant container. You can't tell what it contained originally; the plant man seems to have grown into it. Or grown out of it. He's attached to it, one way or the other.

You try to communicate with the plant man. He gives choked breaths, again sounding like he's trying to say something, he just can't form the words.

"...lm..."

You speak louder, slower, trying to get more out of him. You want to understand him, it's just very difficult.

"...llme...."

You lean just a little bit closer, not wanting to get too close, but you can tell he's definitely trying to say something to you.

"Ki... ll... me...."

oh... ok(?)

Does he... does he look at all rescuable from here? Or does it look like the only way to help him is to do what he asks and put him out of his misery?

Edit: after some thought, I'm leaning toward blooding him immediately. We can at least provide some palliative care that way while we decide what to do and try to discern if we can cure him.

okay, so ya boy here is still sentient. Therefore, we can blood him and see if he's rescuable, and maybe with our newfound mind alteration just sorta make him forget about the years of torture he had here. And get him out of this.

he's been trapped like this for a hundred years. it would be unkind to force him to continue suffering when we're in a position to help him. someone in the discord suggested overdosing him on morphine, which might be the kindest way to do it.

I don't like killing people that can be saved. And THE BLOOOD can kill him either way.

This assumes, of course, that xe's human enough for that to kill xem. That's a combination of human (I'm assuming), plant and pseudo-blood-eldritch being there.

Still definitely would like to try to help xem one way or the other, but we might have to get Dr. Finch in on this.

Well our recent brain surgery experience can probably return them to reality, and to whatever existence they had before this.

Alternatively, enough morphine to make him not want to die, at least yet. People in great physical pain don't necessarily make rational decisions, I've been there. My vote is still using the blood (the blood, the blood) to at least make him more comfortable.

Time to look at that computer. If we can get him out of that state, we might gain some insight on the workings of Z50. If not... yeah, killing the plantman seems rather merciful.

The only way I can think of to reliably kill the half man, half plant, half eldritch being would be to blood xem and see if their biology closely resembles humanity enough to just shut down their brain functions. Essentially, put xem to sleep vet-style.

That said, I definitely think we should consult with Dr. Finch on the matter first. Probably TRY and reassure the wallflower there that we're here to help (even if we don't know how exactly yet).
Also take a look at that computer. If there's ANYTHING about this situation on there it'd help tremendously.
