You have your camera golem poke the plant man attached to the wall.

Well, as much as it can. Your construct lacks any limbs except for those it walks with, so the best it can do is waddle up and nudge the plant creature with the side of its body.

The man-plant... groans? Wheezes? It makes some sort of air-related noise, and seems to be... breathing, but it's slow, labored breaths. It doesn't otherwise react.

You send your golem over to take a look at the computer. You quickly discover that, without real hands to speak of, its ability to operate a computer is very limited.

Does Caius have a weapon? Perhaps we should go grab some weapons, come back, and enter the room. The plant man doesn’t seem like it can move much, and might be dying (based on the labored breathing, and not much movement). There isn’t really a lot of food in here for (it?) to eat. It should be relatively safe, but let’s stay cautious.

Well, plants get most of their material from carbon in the air. As long as there is light, airborne carbon, and a few nutrients from the various soil plots, the plant would make it's own food.

That's right! Trees come from, The Air!

Speaking in plant terms, unless it possesses the power of decomposition (unlikely) we are near-useless nutritionally to the plant. Some water is about all it'd get anytime soon.

AAAAAAAAAAAAA-

Okay. Plan: Help/hurt plant-man is go. 1) find out if plant man is still sentient and/or voilent. 2) find out if he's recoverable physically/mentally. 3) Mercy kill/free (probably through blooding) 4) Computer 5)BURN

Saving him, if possible, will require extensive blood-surgery. Good practice for when someone's bleeding out cause bullets or psy damage or because the cats reveal their cards as alien overlords and they need our help with surgery cause no thumbs.
Getting in there, safely, is probably not going to be too hard. Plants are very hard to move, as in order to move them they need to grow, and since they've only gotten this far, there is little chance they can get us that quickly. I would recommend to spending too much time in one place.

I think we established earlier that injecting the plant wouldn't do much, but what about the fleshier bits of that guy? It's not like the blood could do much to make his situation worse, heck, saving him might even be on the table (although there's probably not much hope for someone who seems to be missing about half of their body mass.

Yeah, and it seems quite likely that blooding the plant-man might be the only way we'll be able to communicate with him at all. We should try communicating verbally first, but if that doesn't work, we might have to try blooding.

I kind of want to "Poke the plant man, harder" but that's probably just going to waste time, lol.

Let's tell Caius what's in there, and... I think we could potentially keep an eye on it through our golem and sort of, uh, cautiously call out through the door. Like, "Hello man-plant! Can you talk?"

I mean, I'd suggest just walking right in and talking to it face-to-face but also wary that once we do there's always the possibility it'd just try to vine us to death somehow. I dunno, this is very weird and I have no real idea how to approach and I'm very paranoid. If it seems like man-plant won't be moving any time soon I suppose we can go ahead and pop inside, though.

As a side note, I guess the man-plant is responsible for the blood A type that the blood in the plant we tested was constantly defaulting to imitate.

Poke harder, for our lil golem kind of equates to...

Lean with more enthusiasm.

I understand we have every right to be cautious, but.. What if we just walked in there? He's alive, but barely.. We could probably just talk with him, if all he can do is breathe a few staggered breaths.

Take pictures of Everything, we may need them as leverage or scary crud to send to Lydia if anyone doubts the level of weird going on right now.
Check if the plant man has 'eyes' (because Mars and Potatoes lol) or any other distinguishing features to determine What type of plant he? has growing out of him.

We probably need to get Sanguine some limbs and digits. (Sanguine being the robot's name, for those reading this comment with confusion.)

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest if the 100-year-old-being is not dead yet, it's probably not "dying" at this point.

A cautionary, "Hello, is anyone in there?" from the hallway wouldn't be bad. If Caius doesn't have a machete on him, probably should go back, get one, and then let's try going in alone and approaching Veiny-McVinerson there with Caius in the hall ready to jump in if needed (I'm feeling kinda bad about subjecting our teammates to all the creepy stuff).
If STILL no reaction in person, let's send Lil' Sanguine back out and check that computer.

Z50 sure love their experiments gone horribly right.
Even if he's still conscious he's been tangled to that wall for the last few decades alone. Probably went stark raving mad from the isolation.

Approach with caution.
