You ask for details about Macland's condition.

She gives you the address to the hospital he's being kept at (which, of course, you already knew). "Tell the nurses Gesenai sent you to pick up information on Macland Row. I'll see that they have a write up ready for you."

You warn her that if anyone tries to interfere with you in the next 24 hours--

"None of my men will," she says. "I make no guarantee about the others. Doubly so if what you're claiming about Carpenter is true--I can't let them know I'm giving you this chance. I'll replace Knox with someone less involved in the situation."

You also chide her for using Edison.

"I asked Thale for help. That's what he gave me. If it's any consolation, that dead agent wasn't looking to do you any favors."

You start to question her further, but Shirai suddenly hangs up.

Fuse finds Dr. Finch's glasses. The two of them confirm that the scrambler works, and you now have a fake signal device to imitate the beacon put off by Edison's canister.

You take a look at Caius. "Ain't nothin'," he says. It looks like a series of lacerations from broken glass--he doesn't seem to be showing any signs of a concussion, at least.

You inform everyone what the situation is.

"Cool," Fuse says. "Like going into Mac's brain wasn't fun enough the first time."

"We may be able to avoid that, depending on what his condition is," Dr. Finch offers. "If the actual problem has been diagnosed, we may be in a unique position to simply... well, treat it. It could be safer, and easier, than attempting another forced sync."

Michelle gets back in her truck, and the rest of you get back into your car. It takes... a little effort, but you manage to get the car running. As you back out into the street to drive away, you ask Dr. Finch about his family.

"I, er... well. I certainly have one," he states.

He leaves it at that, until Caius speaks up. "What, that's it? You got a family and you ain't said nothin' about 'em until now?"

Dr. Finch adjusts his glasses. "I've... well, I'm not especially close to them these days."

Pick up Mack, but make sure he's strapped down when we fix him back up.

*long sigh*

Okay, time to put that fake beacon on a moving train or something to throw them off our tracks and backs. Also better go pick up that hospital report.

Might as well split in two teams and get both things done and over with ASAP since we only have 24 hours, and then go regroup at the bunker.

(Also would like to ask more details about Dr. Finch's family situation because I'm super duper curious >____>)

I vote that rather than putting it on a moving train (which will eventually need to stop and get easily inspected), let's put it in a vat of toxic sludge or just toss it off a building towards the radioactive ground (or put it in a box then toss it into an ocean) or something - not constantly moving it, but put it somewhere nigh irretrievable.

Finch deserves to know what the stakes are; even if they're not close, they're family.

At least one person check on Macland. At least one person go to a computer to look up information about his condition. Preferably Finch. Level anyone who starts freaking out.
Blue_Elite 23rd Nov 2017, 2:44 AM edit delete reply
We can just blood-check/raven-check Macland at any time.
Blue_Elite 23rd Nov 2017, 2:40 AM edit delete reply
Yep, if Thale provided that "weapon" I'm fairly certain that federal agent was a Queen'd pawn (heh).

Agree to the split-up plan. The hospital knows Dr. Finch and I don't trust our disguise to actually disguise us so let's have Michelle (hopefully being a tubecop is an added layer of befuddlement) and Fuse (whose hair is completely hidden under that hat) pick up the Macland medical file if we can right now in Michelle's truck (we picked up Dr. Finch in our car).
Dr. Finch, Caius (who we REALLY need to patch up before letting back into public), and us can plant the fake signal device and then head immediately back to the bunker.
EDIT: Seems like now would be a bad time as we need to give the nurses time to put together that report AND for Shirai to get Knox out of there. Still like the team composition for picking up the file tomorrow.

If all travel is out of the way, we should have Michelle (since, again, really need to patch up Caius) deposit Edison on Mars and then her and Fuse deposit Jury + parts with the P-Js and ask if they can put Humpy-Dumpy back together again.
EDIT2: Ask for an ETA for Jury duty. I doubt Jury has a way to get back or any way to contact us once she's fixed so we'll want to get to her ASAP once she's repaired.

Also we should get/make dinner. It's been a stressful day.

Yeah, all good points to bring up. I don't know about waiting until tomorrow to pick up the file - we are on a tight deadline so maybe we can pick it up after dinner? In which case we might as well go ditch the fake signal right now all together, go get dinner and have Michelle/Fuse (like you suggested) pick up the file from the hospital while the rest of us deal with the other stuff you mentioned (punting Edison on Mars, fixing Jury). -v-)/

I agree on the sooner the better. I didn't know if we COULD start tonight or, if not, just go to bed early and get up as early as possible tomorrow to get crackin'.

Perhaps a Macland check will reveal if Knox has been... reassigned yet or not (and his possible reaction). Also we should probably check on the school eye-cam to see what the Feds are up to (we are so, so busy X( ).

At least Finch managed to save their glasses!
skybirds15 23rd Nov 2017, 1:39 PM edit delete reply
Woo. Alright, I'm willing to bet that ANY progress on Macland's front is going to go a very long way here. If Macland by tomorrow can, say, respond to pain or look at someone who's talking to them, Shirai (who, let's be real, was probably sexing him) will probably either give us more time or just not kill us.

After this is done, we should probably ask her about Edison. And also about how many of her people she thinks are STQd.
PurpleKetchup 23rd Nov 2017, 2:39 PM edit delete reply
I don't think it reached that point between Gesenai and Macland.
If it did, his mind didn't let anything transpire, which... could mean it's the one relationship he really kept under lock and key, or that he doesn't care one bit.

I really hope it's not the latter.

After Caius gets first aid (probably needs some stitches after that radical haircut), it would be nice if he could ask the protosisters to help repair Jury.
Blue_Elite 23rd Nov 2017, 2:40 PM edit delete reply
I'm thinking Jury will know more about Edison than Shirai. Edison was on loan from Thale and a Zone 50 experiment.

...and we're Not going to go back and search the flattened dead guy or at least grab his gun?

Prepare burn salves and bandages for Fuse and analyze what can be done with Mackers, inside and out, with Dr. Finch. Treat Caius and have him keep Edison within arm's reach. Have Fuse and Michelle on Jury duty, maybe get some help from the androids in the bunker.
