You exhale slowly.

You answer the phone, putting it on speaker mode.

"'Ello, Miss!," comes the voice from the other line.

It doesn't sound like anyone you know. In fact, it sounds like a child's voice.

"I like your hat! It's very silly! Did you see my sewing? I do ever so love sewing, but the mean old scientists never let me! Not like Miss Shirai, oh no. She said as long as I followed her instructions, I could have aaall the threads and needles I wanted!"

The voice distorts, at points, the audio crackling and static filling in the background.

"She wants me to kill you, but I wanted to play first! They don't let me out very often you know.

I wooon't teeell if yooouuu wooon't."

fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff-we/re going to have to play. Ask the kid, "What game?"

we should ask the kid to tell Shirai that Mack's condition is due to what Carpenter had told Mack would keep us out Mack's head, and that it functioned more like a "kill the host to take the intruder with it" system.

Oh and ask them if they want to play a game.

This is the thing that came out of the canister? Holy smokes.

Uh...

Questions: 1) who/what are you and 2) where is our friend? The one whose arm is clutching the phone you're talking out of?

...Shirai. Shirai. Has anyone ever told you you have a unique penchant for really terrible ideas? For fuck's sake.

Anyways, yeah. I'm secondin' rufi on this.

I second you on the Shirai sentiment.

It renders me speechless. :'D

tell her we're impressed by her sewing, and ask her if she's responsible for the teeth and all the blood. also, ask her what kind of game she wants to play, and what we get if we win. it's probably best to play along at this point. we can try asking her what happened to jury, but that might be a stretch. jury might also still be here, we know shirai is involved but we don't know if carpenter is at this point.

I second we play along with the kid. But hang up the phone if further useful conversation seems unlikely. Get in the ceiling, and look around up there.

We're facing some combination of 3 scenarios, here:
1. This kid's physical strength is sufficient to overpower a federal agent and an android,
2. They've got some sort of allies in the building with us in this morbid endeavor,
3. Their mind-scrambling ability is more powerful and/or versatile than the success of our tin aluminum-foil hats would lead us to believe.
Blue_Elite 16th Nov 2017, 12:26 AM edit delete reply
SO, whoever it is they can kill/maim adults and androids, cause a concentrated whatever-caused-that-static, and is able to constantly watch us.
Just as an FYI we should deliberately separate what we say OUT LOUD and what we mind-speak (granted it's possible they can hear THAT too).

Ask for a name just so we've got one and what game they want to play. Also what was done with Jury (I imagine the "where is" question has multiple answers... ;>_>).

Offer to play Hide and Seek. The kid hides. We seek.
