Morgenstern
Once everyone's done eating, you and Dr. Finch begin preparing the bio printer.

"My... word this thing is ancient," Dr. Finch says. "This must have been one of the earliest versions of the technology... they're so much sleeker and easier to use now."

Dr. Finch sends Caius and Michelle on a quick trip to Bunker A to retrieve some of his gear while he starts working on getting replacement skin from the bio printer. The process is cumbersome, with the menus all being text-only and difficult to navigate. The system is also painfully slow to load.

"It has to be exact," Dr. Finch states, "or poor Fuse will end up with skin that doesn't match, like some kind of Frankenstein's monster."

"Yeah, I've spent enough time as a mummy," Fuse replies. "I don't really wanna cycle through the rest of the gang."

It takes a while--with Dr. Finch occasionally stopping to gauge the size and severity of Fuse's burns, and compare his skin tone--but eventually, he switches the machine to begin generating. The bio printer is... loud, buzzing and clicking, beeping between sheets of skin. Dr. Finch sometimes has to stop and debug the whole process as the printer 'jams' or something otherwise goes awry.

"None of this is making me feel better," Fuse says.

"The bio printer is working," Dr. Finch says. "It's just being very unpleasant about it."

Michelle and Caius return with the items Dr. Finch asked for, and the bio printer finishes generating skin. Dr. Finch asks you for one more favor--to give Fuse a substantial painkiller boost to compensate for a lack of proper anesthesia. After you do that, Dr. Finch shoos you out of the room.

"I can take it from here," he says. "It will take some time to get everything done properly with what little we have, but it's well in hand. Once I'm finished patching up Fuse--assuming our bio printer doesn't melt or blow up or or or clog any further, we can start looking at the other wounds our group has been accumulating."

Dr. Finch shuts the door, and you are left in the hall with Caius and Michelle.

Michelle holds up her hands, giving you a brief look of bewilderment. "You're a nurse, though...? Shouldn't he be keepin' you in there?"

You mention that Dr. Finch, when he worked at the hospital, never really liked an audience. If he could do something without the aid of other staff, he absolutely would.

"So Finch is one of them lone wolf types," Michelle chuckles. "He's gotta take the weight of the world on his shoulders."

Caius shakes his head. "I don't think it's like that. I mean, I don't know Dr. Finch that well, but... there's some guys that can't use a urinal if there's other people in tha restroom. Y'know what I mean? I think Dr. Finch might just get gun shy."

"Well," Michelle says, "I think that's my cue to change the subject. What are we doin' until Fuse gets his skin on?"

Not a bad idea. See if she knows anything about the goings-on in Bunker B.

Agree with checking in with Jury. If we need to meet with her for whatever reason there's our next task.

PT for Michelle and Caius, meditation practice for Jane?

Alternatively, we never did check out what's outside Bunker C when it's not keyed to the meta-bunker door. Maybe we should do that.

Gosh, the between-the-panels action for these last few updates must look like one of those Scooby Doo chase scenes with hallways full of doors. Just a bunch of people in different groupings going through various doors and coming out where you wouldn't expect.

OK, LET'S FREAKING DECIDE ALREADY. WHERE ARE WE PUTTING LIL-RED? DO WE PUT IT IN BUNKER A OR C? I'm tired of us dancing around this. Finch is terrified of C, so I saw we just throw our buddy into A's lab, and be done with it. It's the most advantageous location, and we'll figure stuff out from there.

Yes, I agree, let's install the meatball in bunker A.

Let's not throw it, however. >_> Let's set it down gently with an affectionate boop on the head for good measure. <3
