You decide to take Dr. Finch and Michelle with you to visit Grizwald.

Before you go, you ask Baby Red if it can... hover, or stick to the wall, or anything like that, or if it needs to be grounded to work.

"No fly. Am sit."

You ask if it knows how big it'll be when it fully develops. Baby Red wiggles. You're not sure if that's supposed to be a shrug, or shaking its head, or... what. You suspect that, once the rest of Mom's red begins growing into it, it could become roughly the size of the mouth in your basement. If Mom's red can grow itself out this far, it can probably grow itself up a wall.

You, Dr. Finch, and Michelle head back to Rockwell Arcade. Grizwald and the reporter are there when you arrive.

"I heard you been busy," Michelle says with a grin.

"Same, same," Grizwald says, grinning back. "Ya'll got a lot o' folks mad atchu... but they's awful folks, so 'at's alright."

Grizwald motions to the reporter. "This here's Lydia. Lydia, this is them other guys I was talkin' about--tha nurse 'at died, tha ex-cop, and... uhh..."

"Dr. Finch," finishes Dr. Finch. "I don't believe we've met."

"Oh, thank goodness," replies Grizwald. "I thought muh mem'ry was jus' goin' bad. Yeah, we ain't met yet. Ah'm Grizwald."

baby red is the cutest thing. how is that even possible it’s a meatball with a mouth i don’t understand at all.

uh, anyways, greetings lydia. sorry about what’s happened to you. maybe dr. finch can check her injuries if she’s alright with that. also, while that happens, maybe she wouldn’t mind sharing how she ended up in this horribly sticky situation? and if she wants, we can take her back to the bunker with us. we do have an extra bunk, and she’d be safe there.

Second that, but also exchange anything you've learned with Grizwald: he probably picked up some useful info while in the air vents.

Quickly explain your particulars to Lydia, and ask hers - surely there was a reason Macland kept her as a punching bag.

A reporter is maybe the best way to sway the public opinion regarding StQ.

Plus... we should probably make sure that she hasn't been Queened. I propose we do this by getting a syringe of like, corn syrup, dying it red, and asking her if she'll let us use the "special medicine" to test her for it. Make it look like we would be blooding her, but not actually blood her.

Or... maybe just have a syringe of regular blood, not ours. might be easier to get. still, we wouldn't be injecting her, just seeing how she responds. Unless she actually would prefer us blooding her. In which case, I'm pretty sure we actually keep like, at least 2 syringes of our blood on us at all times. or something.

Grizwald may not react very well to us being "syrgine happy". Better tell him it's fake before we try anything. Or maybe even ask him if he tested her himself (by asking her to say Thale's name). After that, time to interview our reporter.

Yeah, the "say Patton Thale" trick seems like the least invasive (and definitely least creepy, and least likely to freak Grizwald out) way of doing things.

I honestly completely forgot about this, and you're right, this is a much better idea.

What we really need, however, is a way to trick her into saying it, without outright asking her to say it. We can't afford to let it slip about how we know about this trick until we're sure she's clean.

Could we place a raven with a blood alarm outside to keep watch? We came here with a tracker once, though our enemies probably won't expect us to come here (then again, we thought the same about the hospital).
Kitty 7th Oct 2017, 6:50 PM edit delete reply
Oh yeah, we should... probably let Grizwald know about that.

Hello Lydia! Glad you're out. How ya feeling? How can we help you expose the upper tier crust for all their horribleness? :P Time to hear about all them particulars :D we are the OG survivor crew from the hospital, yo

We're all armed just in case, yeah? No place is safe these days!
