You decide to stop at Dr. Finch's house--but you want to make it fast. Get in, get important things, get out.

Caius and Dr. Finch go inside while you keep watch from the truck. Dr. Finch hustles through his home, snatching the items he thinks he'll need most, and digging out your blood sample, before he and Caius make their way back to the truck.

It's night by the time you get back to the bunker.

Fuse and Michelle greet you at the door, with Fuse holding up a newly made key card.

"I looked into it, and... turns out it's real easy to copy the programming from one of those locks. So, I made a mock up of the bunker lock in your computer, and I've been using it to simulate brute force attempts with the numbers you found as a starting point. We managed to find one extra code-fingerprint-card combo so far. Might be more--the program's still running."

Fuse gives you the key to Bunker B.

Michelle has been focused on the baby red you're holding since you walked in. With Fuse's explanation done, she finally asks. "What... what is that?"

"Am red," it replies. "Small, important."

"Holy sh-- that thing's alive?," Caius says, recoiling just ever so slightly. Dr. Finch smiles, but doesn't say anything.

You explain that it's a way to establish communication with your mother's red over a distance, you just need to find a good place to... er, plant it. You're sort of concerned it could freak everyone out once it fully develops (you say that part quieter, so as not to offend the baby red).

"Eh, we'll get used to it," Fuse says. "Put it wherever you want."

Caius and Michelle begin unloading the truck, and Dr. Finch brings the rat into the bunker.

That's why we surround it with fluffy things, see, so it doesn't look so creepy any more. :D

Put fluffy things everywhere, and see if the rat can get through the hole on the ground next to Caius.

I suppose we could find a hat it could wear.
Maybe a marker to doodle on some eyes or somesuch.
Might make it a bit less disconcerting.

check the laundry, redistribute it as necessary, do more if needed. do we want to see where the B card leads to, or just get comfy and settle down for the night? assuming finch grabbed his microscope, maybe we could get him to look at prophet's blood sample and maybe figure out why it's grey and watery, if there's any sort of exceptional reason.

What if it's a mixture of radioactive blood and a ton of save the queen? That might happen...
Mochi 3rd Oct 2017, 10:06 PM edit delete reply
that's what i'm thinking, yeah.
rufiangel 3rd Oct 2017, 10:14 PM edit delete reply
@Mochi: Ya, maybe Michelle can run her top through the laundry after this too, actually -v-; poor darling. Caius might want to as well, since his shirt got manhandled by the not-Caius earlier XD;

(...actually we should ALL put our clothes in the laundry. I mean, it's been nearly a week now and we're still in the same clothes for the most part. But that's me starting to get a bit toooo realistic XD)

Who votes we plant it in the bathroom?
Baeronius 3rd Oct 2017, 10:03 PM edit delete reply

The... bathroom?
Have it stare at everyone while they.... Uh....

I'm chaotic, but not sadistic, so... I don't particularly like that... idea... O.o;
Steve 3rd Oct 2017, 11:21 PM edit delete reply
first, it doesn't have eyes, just a mouth. so it would smile at them while they use the facilities. which is even better... worse?
second, i was joking

Theeere we go, with Caius and baby red XD (Fuse's 'whatevs' reaction is the best lolol - does Michelle want to try holding baby red at any point? XD)

Let's take a breather before we try bunker B, because who knows what's in *there*?

Let's set up everything - the refrigerator, the microwave, etc. - make things a little more homely with the sheets and our dolls - and let Dr. Finch set up a lab of sorts.

And go over first aid for anyone who needs it, like Caius and his bruises, Michelle's bruises and cuts, Fuse's burns, anything post-surgery Dr. Finch needs to disinfect, Jane's back/neck injuries, etc. Restock first aid supply kit. Check on Macland, maybe?

And then, maaaybe, we can check out bunker B.

Do we have to use the key from outside? Or is there a way to use it from the inner door?

If we turn off the warp.. what's through our current inside door?
Deadly Death Sickle 3rd Oct 2017, 10:08 PM edit delete reply

If we could turn off the warp it might give us a way outside, and maybe to the rest of the facility? I think...?
Baeronius 3rd Oct 2017, 10:10 PM edit delete reply
What do we do if the door comes out at a right angle? Like say the door fell over onto it's back (Like the entry door could) the gravity would be like...↓ ⌂►☼♀♂↨♣↕‼ ←

* I seem to have hit reply instead of edit. Ooops.

Actually I think it would be more like the gravity is fine but if you jumped through the door since it's on its back, feet down, you would land on you back as gravity changed the moment the when though the door, like in monsters incorporated, in the final scenes with Randal chasing mike and the big blue and purple hug bear thing

Well, I think Fuse is the only one of our buddies who's seen a full-blown red, both mom's and ours. At this point I guess he's just used to it.

I think we should scope out Bunker B before planting the red, because if it's anything like the one at our house it might need a lot of space for its mouth?

On the other hand, it might be nice to have it somewhere nearby, which doesn't necessitate leaving the bunker then going back in to access.

Well, of the rooms in Bunker A, assuming we don't find a useful spot in B, I guess the main room, near the elevator might be best? Or the room in front of the bathroom. Not the bedroom, I don't think. Very, VERY definitely not the bathroom itself.

Wait, can we just travel to different places by going through the door of the Bunker from the inside? For some reason that plain didn't occur to me. That would be a way less inconvenient design.
rufiangel 3rd Oct 2017, 10:38 PM edit delete reply
Yeah, I'm thinking we're holding off from 'planting' our baby red anywhere. For now, it can just be, you know, chilling somewhere. And be cute. And important.

But let's not put it on the floor, since that confuses it. (why floor?) Either someone holds baby red or we put it on a counter or something. Elevation probably helps appease its need to express its importance, right? XD

Oh, and you're totally right about Fuse, lol. I just find it funny that he's now so desensitised to this sort of thing XD 'Oh, you brought home a meat ball and it'll eventually grow into a massive speaking mouth or something like that? Okay, cool.'
