You tell Fuse to go ahead and override Carpenter's control.

The creature slices its way through the lockers and begins to crawl into the room.

It opens fire, a burst of bullets spraying across the room. Michelle moves in front of you, shooting it in the 'face' with her shotgun.

A couple of rounds hit Michelle, but the kick on the monster's gun, the surveillance all suddenly shutting down, and the creature's visor getting blasted seem to throw its aim off mid-stream. Michelle's wounded, but she's still standing.

"Gyehehe..." Carpenter's laughter dies down. His voice is only coming from speakers in the monster now. "Well that's cute. Don't think for a second this can stop me--!"

The monster fires blindly. The room is fairly confined, but Michelle pulls you low, the creature's line of fire shooting over your heads. You hurl a syringe at the monster, hitting it mostly center of mass.

You do not gain control. As you feared, a significant part of its body doesn't feed commands back to the control point. Total control would require either blooding the 'brain,' or dumping a large quantity of blood into it.

You briefly try to pull mass out of the creature--to, essentially, externalize your red from it.

"It's too far from human," you can hear Red saying. "It has tissue but no stem cells. It has flesh, but no spark for regeneration. Growing mass out of your own body uses the natural healing process--the capacity for the body to start making more--and then uses red to dump infinite fuel on the fire. There's human parts in that thing, but it's not enough of a door to push red through."

"Where aaare you, nurse? ARE YOU DEAD YET?!," Carpenter screams through the monster. It fires its gun in short bursts, which are getting further and further from actually hitting anything. However, the monster is also slowly drawing closer, swinging its blade out randomly.

The download finishes. You pull the USB out. You have the surveillance footage.

You just need to get out.

The monster doesn't take up the whole width of the room--there's space to squeeze by on either side--but it's not much, and definitely not risk free.

Does Red have any ideas for what we *can* do with the amount we've blooded the thing? Can we at least kinda tip it to one side or the other, or subtly distort the sensory messages it's getting regarding what the part we blooded is doing, so it loses balance?

Ah, wait! We blinded it, but it can probably still hear! Let's do the old "throw something/make a noise somewhere where we aren't" and see if it heads that way. Do we have anything we can throw that we can use for remote noisemaking? Do we happen to have an extra gun that we can chuck to the other side of the room and remotely trigger via blood-bandage to make it sound like we're shooting at it from a different part of the room?

We do have Jane's handgun - could potentially work?

EDIT: Potentially we don't even need to blood-bandage it. We just have to bleed into the gun, slide it across the room, float it and then trigger it remotely.

Michelle ;________; Don't hurt yourself too much over us baby boo, make sure you take care of yourself too!

I'm so glad we got the surveillance though, that's one thing done. Now to GET OUT.

I know we shouldn't overdo the syncing but... would it help if we synced Caius's melee combat skills in order to skilfully avoid getting stabbed by its stupid stabby arm and roll out behind it, and then running for it?

Michelle's kind of big, so maybe we could divert it first so it gets out of the doorway before Michelle tries getting out?

Gah, what else can we dooo

EDIT: As a side-note, we actually got Carpenter to stop laughing. Go Fuse and Michelle. -v-

try to distract him, then attempt to squeeze past on the gun side. if we stay low and try to be as quiet as possible we can probably avoid it. his aim sucks now that he's blinded and honestly a gun firing blindly at the walls is less likely to hit us than a wildly swinging giant blade. then we just need to book it for the stairs and get the fuck out of dodge. work on slowing michelle's bleeding as we go.

Well, I take a nap and stuff happens. Heh.

AT least the monster was OCD and polite enough to cut the locker neatly down the middle, preserving the contents of said locker.
