Dr. Finch attempts to get the attention of the medics before they leave the room. "Hey... what happened to the agent that was with me? Was she affected by the bacteria, as well?"

"Not sure," one medic responds. "Need to know basis. I'll see if I can find out for you."

Once they're gone, you let Dr. Finch know that you're going to keep the alarm on--so if anything changes, he can let you know. You're still trying to get him out.

You inform the others of what happened with Dr. Finch.

"So they got a way to test this now," Caius comments. "Great," he adds sarcastically.

"Not quick, from the sound of it," Michelle says. "So at least there's that... they can't just go runnin' around the city pokin' birds to see who's on our side. That machine's gotta test for Queen, too, right?"

"That might be what it was made for, at first," Fuse states. "Blondie hasn't been at this that long, and we haven't done a shabby job of staying under the radar. Save the Queen's been circulating for a while, though... the feds might have began with investigating the drug, then slowly worked their way down the rabbit hole. Hard to say--they might know more than we do, they might know less."

"They could already be lookin' for a way to bust Thale," Michelle says.

"Or Thale could be cutting them a check," Fuse counters. "We know more about an entire race of space aliens than we do that one federal agent."

There's a brief pause before Caius speaks up.

"There's still somethin' off about that agent."

"No joke," Fuse replies, "she's immune to flesh eating bacteria, never gives her name, and even if she's not really a federal agent she's got resources."

"Finch offered her a needle full of Blondie's blood, right?," Michelle asks. "Shouldn't that've been enough for 'em to know Finch is space-possessed?"

"Maybe they needed more concrete proof," Fuse says.

"For what?," Caius says with a chuckle, "he ain't on trial, is he? They could cap 'im in tha dome, ain't nobody gonna know about it. If they're really tha feds, they don't need proof o' shit. If he's a threat to national security or whatever, they'd off him."

"Maybe they were hoping he'd cop to it?," Fuse continues to speculate. "Like... maybe they knew what the results were going to be already, but they hoped the stress would get him to spill some info."

"Or..." Michelle speaks, slowly, "...the agent hid the needle from them. She knows Finch has got some craziness goin' on, but maybe the other feds don't."

"Blondie just told us, though," Fuse shakes his head, "that she reported Dr. Finch's amazing accuracy during the gunfight. That's basically exposing him."

"Maybe they didn't find out from her," Michelle replies more enthusiastically, "they mighta tested casings or whatever at the scene, figured out which bullets were Finch's and which were our mystery agent's. If she divulged everything she saw weird with Finch, they wouldn't be treatin' him like they are. They're actin' like he's just some poor doctor swept up in some bad business, not like he's secretly been testin' alien blood in his lab the whole time. They'd have to find all that when they cleaned the place, right?"

"Unless the agent hid it," Caius concludes. "Or kept 'em outta the shady bits."

"But why?," Fuse asks. "Why would she hide all that from her own agency? Is she working for Thale from inside the government? Is the government working with Thale and that agent's trying to do the right thing? What the FUCK is going on?"

"Maybe she just really likes Dr. Finch," Caius adds with a shrug. "The gray hair's pretty distinguished. Seein' him take charge and shoot up bad guys mighta won her heart."

There's a lingering pause. With everything else going on everyone actually, briefly, genuinely considers the possibility before the laughter sets in.

"That's it, that's gotta be it," Michelle says between giggling, "that mysterious agent got seduced by the Finch. She never stood a chance."

For the moment, you decide to rest, recover your energy, and think more about the next step while waiting to see what happens with Dr. Finch.

So,can we "feel" where the syringe Finch had is? I'D since its filled with our blood and we can move things are blood contains can we focus on it to determine its location?
rufiangel 18th Sep 2017, 10:24 PM edit delete reply
rufiangel
Technically, yes, but the syringe will have to be somewhere out and about for us to perceive through it to get any clues (remember the bartender corpse?), and this is assuming 'Fed' lady didn't destroy it or expel the contents somewhere else (if the blood doesn't have a vessel, I don't think we can check in on it). It's always worth a try, though?
Kitty 18th Sep 2017, 9:29 PM edit delete reply
Probably time to contact Agent "Fed" and see if we can suss out what's going on with her. Things we need: a burner phone, and a good location to call from that we can move away from quickly if need to, and that isn't too obviously linked with anywhere related to us.

Also we should make sure we're well-rested first, of course.

oh my god, caius. i love that that is where your mind went.

they're right, though, this is all pretty strange. there should be literal heaps of evidence in finch's home tying him to us. he's been running tests on our blood. he had a syringe of it in his hand when he passed out. not only that, but we've been basically living there. if they actually went to the trouble to investigate his house, there's no way they wouldn't find some form of DNA evidence. hair, skin... we slept on his couch at least once. also, he has our medical records somewhere! they shouldn't have even needed to test his blood to know how deep he is in this.

i think we need to find agent lady. she's gotta still be sniffing around places, right? we need to get one or two of our birds out looking for her. the one that was at finch's house yesterday should remember what she looks like. also, we should check if they're done cleaning up finch's place, she might go back there. or back to our house. we can check those places first, and then get our bird to see if it can find her. it's probably like looking for a needle in a haystack, but... if we can put a tail on her, we might be able to find out what her deal is.

Okay, but here's a point.
We don't know if this agency is looking out for STQ type aliens, or Red type aliens.

For all we know they're after STQ, so our DNA would be mighty moot in that case.

It already has. I actually did a double take on this myself--and nearly edited in a little pizza box, and Caius saying the pizza arrived while you were zoned out with Dr. Finch on this page--but then I realized I had put "you spend an hour eating and resting" on the Patch Fuse Up page.

Juggle too much and you are going to drop a ball or two It's very sneaky pizza.

Miss immune is moms blood thrall confirmed

But seriously, how else would she be immune to flesh eaters, and have a reason to hide the syringe and other evidence? If she's working for thale, she would've just told them that and not put them through the lengthy test process. Area 50 and mars guy would have gone the same. So, she's either making a moral choice, in which case she knows way more than we think, or she was moms blood thrall and ordered to/wants to hide us from danger.

Alright, if it's only starting to get dark, we still have a few hours left in the day.

Some ideas:
a) formulate exactly what to say on the phone to the 'Fed' number, whether it's through Caius or Jane. Probably Caius. I guess what we say also depends on if it connects directly to the 'Fed' lady.
b) discuss if it's possible to get Fuse a computer he can work with in the motel room. Regardless of whether he spoofs the call or not, it's useful for him to have - especially since he's probably not going on field trips with us for a while.
c) check on all the blood links; Macland might be in a hospital right now? Maybe? and if we're lucky, like Mochi says, we might catch 'Fed' lady snooping around somewhere familiar again. Maybe.

In general though, I think we do need to rest for the most part and replenish energy reserves. Dr. Finch, stay safe in the meantime. ;v;* Try not to seduce too many people while you're there XD
Kitty 18th Sep 2017, 11:29 PM edit delete reply
Perhaps instead of even bothering with trying to spoof the call, we should just use a burner phone and call from a separate location. If Fuse spoofs using a computer that's located physically in the hotel room, *that* might be traceable even if the phone number isn't, depending on what future-"Fed" technology can do (and Fuse is apparently of the opinion that their technology can do a lot).

Yep, that's why I noted that regardless of whether he spoofs it or not XD

Well, what woman WOULDN'T swoon over the Finch?

How the heck are we supposed to get Finch out of there though? Place looked pretty clean, but it WAS on the lower tiers. The way the medics talked I feel like it isn't TOO weird for not everything to be perfect, so maybe they do get the occasional ratty intruder?

We could send in a proper spy, but it'll be dangerous for a lot of reasons. STQ in the lower tiers, plus if this place is even sort-of kind-of related to a fed agency I bet they have fantastic security. Like "hidden cameras nearby" security.

The fed lady is so mysterious that I suspect that she even eats breakfast in secrecy.

...maybe she's just a robot?

We shouldn't read too much into these random medics not knowing Finch had alien blood around his house. Need to know basis, after all. All they know is he MIGHT be infected, and that their job is to test for it.

Even the machine being weird is a sort of evidence. Finch having the blood and surviving a nasty encounter with flesh-eating bacteria is more. The machine bugging out near the end is another. How many odd coincidences before they just assume the worst?

We really need to free Finch, somehow. Someone suggested poking a driver going in at some point. We could use him for recon, I guess? See what's inside. Maybe see if we could get him to poke someone with more access?
Baeronius 18th Sep 2017, 10:42 PM edit delete reply

We don't know if Save The Queen can even affect machines.
If it can't, then it's likely the agent's don't know genuine Blood can.

STQ is bio-printed, and considered inferior by Mom's Red, so I assume it's also lacking abilities that a normal Red would.
Even if they got a sample of the Other's Red, it wouldn't act on its own unless it had a reason to start moving (such as bio-printed STQ entering) and even then it wouldn't focus on the machine, cause it had no reason to.

So most likely if STQ can't do machines, they don't know Blood can.
But then again, we don't know if STQ Can't do machines.

STQ in machines... Goodness. Could you imagine the Bio-printer monster under STQ control? *Shudder*

The thought as a whole is discouraging, to say the least.

All things considered, I'd say the fed agent is... A Wildcard. At best. We don't know her, or her intentions, but nobody has offed The Finch yet... Nor have they found any real proof that he's aiding Jane here. They've been nothing short of sloppy if they're trying to be thorough so it leads me to believe that Jane isn't their first and foremost focus, just yet...

We need eyes on the Agent. Focus on the Syringe, but also set up alarms to go off if Dr. Finch gets more visitors.
