The metal ladder is slick, making it difficult to climb down. You work your way to the lower level carefully, and check out the pile on the far right.

It is... just a pile of junk. A busted tire, a broken shovel, newspapers, rotted wood, empty cans... things of that sort. Though, if there's big piles of junk drifting through the sewer, it might explain where Fuse found a computer.

You climb back up, and enter the large drainage pipe. It looks like the metal bars have been chewed out.

Occupying the pipe are three large, bug-like creatures. Well... four, actually, but the fourth is a pile of viscera on the ground. The other bug entities are feasting on its remains, too busy consuming their compatriot to notice you just yet.

they're… honestly kind of cute? but also cannibals. cute cannibals. also, those are definitely what has been watching us since we got here. uhhh... they might not be openly hostile? we might be able to get past them... but if they are openly hostile, we're SOL.

They're the people that dwell at the lower Tiers. For a man like Macland Row, he can't see them as anything more than bugs, savage and simple, killing, stealing, hell, even eating each other.

He doesn't understand a damned thing

This probably explains why Fuse started out down here, instead of the 'upper tiers' like we did.

If that's true, let's hope these roaches aren't wielding super crazy mutation powers

If there were Giant Hostile Cannibal Turtles... I'd sing a song for them.

♪Giant Hostile Canniblal Turtles, Giant Hostile Cannibal Turtles, Giaaant Hostile cannibal turtles!.... Please don't let them bite you! Bloody shower!♪

Awww. It looked like one of those pulley vacuums.
But I think we could fit the tire with the shovel handle across inside, to make a shield, or at least something to hide behind.
If junk is moving around here, mobile cover could be a good option.

Edit: Whelp, since it's a sewer, I guess we wander to the right or left a bit and look for other doors/pipes etc.

So... Not to be to hopeful, but the room we came from (A page ago). The bug had a green eye... Kinda like Fuses visor... if this is the way MacLand perceives the lower tier people could that be Fuse as MacLand perceives him?

Well, they've all had different eye colors so far.

no one's really made a concrete suggestion yet so i have one: i think we should approach them, cautiously. i've been thinking about this for a while and i think we might need to get them to help us. they can obviously chew through the metal grates on these big sewer pipes, and we may need to get through the one that's blocked to get out of here, find fuse, or both. this is banking on them not being hostile, of course... but i think that if they were, fuse would've mentioned he was getting attacked by giant roaches, not just that they were present.

I wonder what killed the one they're eating...?

It'd take a really big hand to squash one of THESE roaches.

Lets try saying hello, I guess? If they are representative of the lower tiers, then treating them like people might be the easiest way to stay on their good side. Just remember that the lower tiers are controlled by Save the Queen, and that may very well be the truth here as well.

Remember as well that they may REPRESENT the lower tiers, specifically as Macland sees them. Odds are, they will respond to our greeting the way Macland thinks they will.
