You check on Dr. Finch. He has been fully loaded into the unmarked truck, which is now on its way down the road. You get the raven near Dr. Finch's place to follow the vehicle from a safe distance.

You thank Mom's red for its help, and you head back upstairs.

Fuse is the only person still in the living room.

"Michelle's still in the house somewhere. Caius yelled about getting beer and stormed out. We told him it was dumb to go out on his own, but he didn't want anyone going with him. There's a convenience store down the road... I guess he walked."

You update Fuse on what you learned, and suggest staying in the corridor for tonight.

"Not a bad idea," Fuse states. "It's gonna be uncomfortable as hell, but we're pretty low on options."

You ask if he has any other ideas for where you could possibly stay--short term, or long term, without leaving too much evidence around.

"I mean, there's cheap motels all over the lower and middle tiers," he says. "You gotta check for bed bugs and watch out for weird stains, but if you pay up front they don't ask a lot of questions."

First, check on Caius. I have a feeling there's more than a beer run going on here. Cold feet about sticking with this band of crazies?

I wonder if we could siphon a bit of cash from Macland safely? Turning our enemy's resources against them, just a bit. Maybe we should keep an eye out for financial details when we hit his brain later, though that's obviously a secondary or even tertiary goal.

Lets ask Fuse to keep an eye out for a bit, because we need to talk to Michelle a little in private, then go find her.

Maybe just temporarily peek in on Caius to see if he's okay. I'm guessing he's doing good on his word and getting beer and blowing off steam. Just making sure he's not, like, getting kidnapped or something. :'D If he's gonna get beer, can he get some food for like, all of us too?

Maybe ask Fuse to just help grab some blankets or something and shove it down the vent while we go find Michelle and have a private talk about, you know, what we found out in our force-sync... and how we kind of have the ability to help extend her life. We'll figure it out as we go but it's fully possible and we want her to know she shouldn't view herself as expendable, or short-term, or anything less than the valuable and amazing friend she is. And that we're going to keep her around as long as we can, and she's already proven over and over again that she's so much more than a 'tube cop'. Yada yada.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and I think it's worth just finding a shady motel in the Middle Tiers (STQ is still not really a thing in the Middle Tiers, so that's safer) and staking it out there after we've rested up tonight. Once we do that, Dr. Finch may be at a place we can try to infiltrate, and we can start formulating some plans. We'll be closer to the Lower Tiers and Michelle and/or Fuse can do some supply runs.

Why is the skin-wall around the red's enormous mouth darker than it was before?

It dimmed the lights to conserve power

(I normally darken the backgrounds by about 50% so the foreground stands out better; I somehow forgot to do that the first time this room showed up, then forgot that I'd forgotten to do it this time).

sorry we kind of left you up here to deal with everything, fuse. thirding checking on caius, i sure hope he's just getting beer. i can only really stand to lose one friend today. :c after we make sure he's fine, let's go talk to michelle and then when everyone is back we should go find a motel. assuming the bag caius brought from his apartment is full of money, we should have enough cash to lay low for a little bit.
