You spend a little bit practicing with the ravens. They're a little easier to manage than the rats were--they require less 'babysitting,' so to speak, and don't seem to get sidetracked as much. You take some time to acclimate yourself with perceiving through your ravens, sending them back and forth to various locations.

You and Fuse discuss cross referencing phone numbers. In particular, trying to find out who owns the mystery number in the phone of the tiger masked woman, and about the phone number Caius was given by the federal agent. Fuse takes out his cell phone and wanders toward the car to start looking into it.

You also get in touch with Dr. Finch, and ask if he can look into Shirai's properties compared to the Elegance list. If one of the Elegance members is operating out of one of Shirai's properties, it may lead to a bigger connection to TH. Shirai and Macland are close, and they're both part of TH's circle--it wouldn't be out of the question for others in cahoots with Shirai to be in that circle, as well. Dr. Finch agrees.

You consider stockpiling your blood. Having a container of it ready somewhere could be useful, especially if you need to try the teleporting trick. You keep it in mind for later, when you're perhaps doing less running around, and when you have access to Dr. Finch's lab.

Lastly, you bring up the idea of practicing a forced sync. You can try to sync with one of your allies--and learn something specific--while they try and repel you. It would give you at least a clue as to what you're getting yourself into.

If you plan on doing it while Macland's asleep, then it would be best to practice on a sleeping person. You can cause someone to pass out, and extend their sleep, while you do it.

"Which one of us you gonna practice on?," Michelle asks. "You'll prob'ly be dealin' with their nightmares and stuff. That'd be like... what, spiders for me? Fuse bein' insecure about his eyes?"

"I just really like the visor," Fuse comments from near the car, apparently having overheard that.

"Dr. Finch might be Hard Mode--he was scared of hands. No tellin' what's goin' on that in guy's head. Well, up to you--I think most of us would be cool with it." Michelle glances past you at Caius, who is fixated on the raven you left here. "...Maybe not all of us. Caius might fight back for real."

Caius turns, having heard his name spoken. "What? Whaddya guys talkin' about?"

It's necessary to prepare for the worst. The doctor is probably not as bad as Macland.

Hands, eyes(?), or spiders(or whatever Caius is scared of, but I don't think he trusts us enough yet to let us into his nightmares, and I don't think we should violate his trust by forcing the matter).

I guess....spiders? Blondie probably has a fear of losing her humanity, and hand-beasts and eye-bominations probably edge really close to the sort of body horror she fears. If we're softballing it a bit for our first go, Michelle is probably the best choice.

caius might be the best practice target. we know him the least, and he's never synced before. obviously, explain what it is and how it works to him first. then he can make an informed decision on whether or not he wants to be a guinea pig.

(also look at him, watchin the birb, what a good)

It might also be a bit traumatizing for him, though, for his first sync to be a forced one. It could give him some kind of subconscious resistance to syncing in the future-- could put him off syncing, basically-- which might be a problem if we have an emergency situation where we need to sync quickly and he's got a Pavlovian "nope nope nope" reaction getting in the way.

We should obviously explain syncing to him, but for practicing a forced sync, we might wanna try Michelle first.

I agree with Kitty I REALLY don't want to forcefully invade someone's mind unless they are the Mac what's his face tipe so full of themselves so arrogant so worthless making excuses left and right for himself who also considers himself superior to everyone because he has more money(lets see how money saves you when you have [introduce creative way to kill here like random raven attack, bullet in head]) how's you're money gonna save you then!!!!!!!!
Mochi 3rd Sep 2017, 5:47 PM edit delete reply
true, i didn't think about that. in order of difficulty is probably smart.
AlphaDragon 3rd Sep 2017, 6:47 PM edit delete reply
Fuse might be the best choice actually... to date we have synced with him the most so he would be most aware of what it felt like. So he would be able to sense us easier.

hmmmm I wonder does it really matter that we divulge info to the enemy via sync if we can make the enemy physically unable to say anything about it unless the treatment Mac what's his face had any effect and because he didn't say anything about the syringe
I think we can do whatever we want with him no?

Can we have one of the ravens say "nevermore," a la this guy?

I'd say to have the one in front of Caius say it, but that would be kinda a dick move, he's obviously a bit out of his element here. Maybe have one hop over to Michelle and talk to her XD

This isn't *just* frivolous, of course-- if we can get the ravens talking, that could have all kinds of practical applications.

...But maybe it's mostly just for fun.

also one more "ravens talking" video for funsies

Kinda want to do Caius to see what he's afraid of.
Mochi 3rd Sep 2017, 6:29 PM edit delete reply
kitty makes a good point though, there is a chance it could be traumatizing for him. probably best to go from easy to hardest.

Yay so many things a-happening <3 also, Michelle ribbing on Fuse's visor just made me laugh XD

I see major pros and cons on whoever we practice with, but since Dr. Finch is fairly occupied with the tasks he's got on hand (researching PTSD and cross-referencing names) I'd guess he's probably a bit busy. Fuse might be busy with the phone thing too, though that depends on whether he finishes that up before we get back home or not (and it took us a while to drive up here I think).

Caius might be interesting if he is up for it. He may not even be aware of his own greatest fears, so this could be an opportunity for him to learn what they might be, so he could be prepared for Prophet if they ever cross paths. This is contingent on him being okay with syncing though; might be best for Michelle and Fuse to explain to him first what it feels like, rather than us explain it.

I believe so far we're looking at:

Dr. Finch: 1
Michelle: 2
Caius: 2
Fuse: 1

Michelle might be at 3, if that's who Mochi is voting for.
Mochi 3rd Sep 2017, 8:13 PM edit delete reply
i'll break the tie and say michelle, yeah. we know her best and we already know what her darkest fear is so she's probably the better choice.
WalkerOfSorrow 3rd Sep 2017, 9:07 PM edit delete reply
Just to cement that, I think Michelle is the best bet. She's level-headed, spiders are a known issue unlike self-immolation or hands or whatever Caius' deal is.
rufiangel 3rd Sep 2017, 10:10 PM edit delete reply
Michelle is a good choice. ^_^

I still think best for us to explain to Caius what the sync thing is though, since he asked what we're talking about, and I guess to ask if he's okay if we actually do sync with him in the future to borrow his skills. (Nothing to do with our repel-sync training thing, just in general.) Adversely he can also get synced with other people's skills. We're a mini-hive-mind, but a fun one. XD;
