You start giving yourself a painkiller effect, at least enough to try and focus beyond the gaping wound in your shoulder.

You hurl a blood-filled syringe at the man.

...However, you're having to aim your throw through Fuse's eyes, which turns out to be more difficult than it sounds. You still haven't quite recovered from the homemade flashbang you were hit with.

Your first throw of the syringe misses. You try to stop, and curve the needle in midair, but the man with the axe quickly spots it. He snatches the syringe out of the air, hurls it at the ground, and then stomps on it. The syringe is smashed, its contents seeping across the floor.

It's a distraction, though. It buys you a precious few seconds. You sync with Michelle and Fuse, feeding Michelle's combat experience to Fuse as quickly as you can. You're hesitant to draw your own gun, considering how the syringe went.

The man swings wide with his axe, but Fuse soaks in Michelle's knowledge just in time. He sways back, the axe narrowly missing him. He fires a bullet straight into the man's heart.

The man drops his axe, but continues to stumble forward.

Fuse puts a round in the man's leg, forcing him to the floor, then another in his chest.

The man finally succumbs, slumping flat to the floor. Fuse stares, heaving, gun fixed on the body for several long seconds, as if he's afraid the man might still get up.

Your sight is just starting to come back, though everything's very fuzzy and washed in white. You still can't hear anything. You try to contact your red about possibly healing.

Mom could regenerate, but Mom had a little more wiggle room in regard to what came out. She could just mold herself back into a people shape afterward. With that being your... let's say default form, you could try healing. You miiight not liiike the resuuults, though."

holy shit that was intense. let fuse know we can't hear still. get across that that was fucking rad and he just saved both of your lives. it doesn't really soften the blow of killing a man for the first time, but make sure he knows that it was the right thing to do. assuming michelle realized we were trying to save fuse's behind with her combat experience, make sure to tell her that the assailant is dead and we're... mostly fine. she's probably worried. then, press red for details.

Went back a couple comics and found this:
You decide to try and enforce hemostasis. It's a little different than the things you've tried before, but by commanding platelets to draw toward each other--and making tissue contract--you figure out how to slow bleeding, and likely increase the rate of blood clots forming. You only practice it with a small cut, but it should work on larger injuries, as well.

So maybe we just clot the wound, and bandage it... would hate to give ourselves a tumor by making our tissue grow to fast...

Hopefully that affect is transferable, like the pain killer and level effect.

the small fact of the matter is that judging from the explantion on the previous page, this asshole very nearly cut our arm off and severed many of the major nerves. we could bandage it and keep ourselves from bleeding out, but we're still going to have one mostly dead arm until we can maybe get finch to fix everything. there's a whole lot more warehouse. i do think we need more information from red, though.

That is true, we have lost use of an arm, but don't we still have our bandages? I think we are more likely going to screw up healing while under stress than back with Finch.
BUT, we are a nurse, maybe if we sync with Finch and ourselves we can pull it off.
Is it worth the risk?

Growing an extra... thing might not be great for PR, but it's better than losing use of an arm when you have a generator to disable and a bunch of radioactive hobos to repel.

Time to do it, Jane. Too late for practice.

Agreement with PurpleKetchup. It is time to send Fuse ahead and try growing thin. If we embrace the Red and let our body do its thing, I think we'll be good.

i updated the fan page with character information for prophet, nimrod, and waldo, as well as adding a spoiler warning to the front page. rufi, feel free to go back and edit any of my additions. i tried to keep them as close to the standard you've got going as i could.

I say we save the regeneration as a last resort. Have Fuse help us patch up the wound the best we can for now.

This particular update was full of awesome. That's all I wanted to say.
