Negotiate more aggressively

You pat Fuse on the shoulder to let him know you're behind him.

You have your guard tell Prophet that the current situation isn't exactly neutral. Macland could return at any minute, and this guard is in a precarious position. You try to make it clear that, if any harm comes to this guard, talks are off--you need to arrange a situation where you can be certain you won't be ambushed, and this guard will walk away safely.

You send a blood-filled syringe through the vents, hitting the clown in the neck with it.


isn't right.

It burns.

You feel a tension, a struggle, as you watch the man in the clown mask pull the needle from his neck. With his other hand, he starts to reach for his pocket, pulling out a cell phone.

"Are... are you making him do that?," Fuse whispers. You shake your head vigorously. "Shit. Shit!"

The man in the clown mask starts to dial a number. Fuse doesn't have time to unscrew the vent cover. He twists in the ventilation shaft, shoving his foot against the metal cover once. Twice.

"It's here," the clown says into the phone. "I got careless. I got got."

Three times. On the fourth kick, Fuse launches the vent cover from its frame, spilling into the warehouse office. The clown drops his phone, trying to attack Fuse with his metal pipe. Fuse tries to snatch the pipe from his hand, and the two begin to fight back and forth over it. You keep trying to control the clown, to perceive through him, but you still feel... a tingling. Burning. Pressure. It's getting better.

The room shakes.

A bright light, almost blinding, sweeps through the warehouse.


You can now give orders to the clown.

The light fades.

You tell the clown to quit resisting, and Fuse immediately shoves the clown to the floor, simultaneously snatching the pipe. Fuse lifts the pipe overhead, about to finish the clown off, but you verbally tell Fuse to stop.

Fuse shakes, hesitating. For a moment, you're afraid you might have to make Fuse stop... but finally, he relents, letting the pipe fall to his side.

Probably. It's harder for Red to mimic it, so Queen keeps control for longer. Once it goes past the difficulty, it's still able to shut Queen down.

Was there a bomb somewhere ? Need a sitrep after that whiteout.

If everything's fine, meet up with prophet and apologise for disabling his guard. Then get the hell out of there, since he clearly reported Jane's presence on the premises.

I don't think it was radioactivity. I think TH was poised to sync with that guard as soon as he was compromised (or attempt control in some other way). If so, I bet that's an experiment to try and subvert our control. Looks like it failed, but let's stay on our toes.

Our character and Fuse don't seem to have noticed a bomb, nor has our guard felt the change. I'd like to nix meeting the prophet as well as disabling the guard. If he agrees to meet later, esp. freeing the guard, then we can apologize later.

Hehe, does Fuse have coulrophobia? That Would explain things. Or it's Howler himself there. Have the clown call back that number and signal the all clear, got spooked by a Large rat/whatever they are Afraid of that would be known to the person on the other end. Then keep that phone off after, Sim card disconnected and in hand for future use.
Finally off with the mask and on with some answers.

Calling back is unwise, and that excuse isn't going to fly. Probably briefed ahead of time that nothing he says after that report is going to be believed. But recovering the phone and anything else he has is a good idea. If we find out the clown belongs to the Prophet, we can make the offer to give him back as a radio. Prophet can use the clown to communicate with us as needed, or dispose of him, or do whatever he likes.

CHAPTER TWO IS COMPLETE! Dang that was a long chapter but it was so good! Thank you MM for carrying us through this ride for this long so far - I'm loving it. And dying right now because ARGHHH WHAT JUST HAPPENED XD;;;

That clown guy told them he 'got got'. We're going to get ambushed if we're not careful. :'D

I think we should tell Michelle what just happened and to get ready to get us the heck out of there since a massive white light just pretty much told everyone we're here :'DDD I don't know, should we just get back out through the vents and make sure Michelle is waiting for us right outside it? Is Michelle gonna be okay with security going haywire?

I honestly want to ask Fuse what the HECK is going on - why is he so angry and emotional and wanting to kill? :'D But I have no idea if this is the right time and place for that talk. I'm so worriedddd (but he dropped the pipe without us having to command it; I'm profoundly glad for this)

Aaand in regards to the guard (re:guard hurr), is the Prophet okay with what we proposed? Because if he is, we can definitely just skidaddle now since the guard'll be somewhat safe 'till Mackey gets back (and we can maybe try to command him to get the heck out before then) :'D

Yes, we need to get out of here. The Clown and likely anyone affiliated with Enyo are going to bee-line our location. I second your entire suggestion with Michelle. Let's have her make sure not to get jumped like we jumped the clown.

If Fuse cooperates, I think his explanation can wait. But if someone's messing with his head, we need to disable him and put him somewhere until we figure out how. That's a last resort response though. After all, he did drop the pipe.

If the Prophet's is okey-dokey, he can have the clown back as a radio (see above) if you guys think that would be wise. If he isn't cooperative, then we'll just leave our guard for that purpose and take the clown somewhere. Anyone know what to do with the clown?
