You suggest driving by your place, just to see if anything's going on. Your house is in the upper tiers, and not too out of the way from the Rockwell Arcade.

The revelation is enough to drag Fuse from his stupor. "Wait, you live in the upper tiers? Seriously?"

You explain that, though you mostly worked in the middle tiers and made middle tier wages, your parents were very wealthy. After they passed away, they left you the house. That's why you always had to take two different trains to get to work.

"You think we'll get tailed if we swing by there?," asks Michelle. Fuse shakes his head. "I doubt it. The higher you go, the less Save the Queen you see. I asked a dude in the middle tiers about it a few weeks ago, he hadn't even heard of it yet. I checked the stats on that livestream... only about twelve people were watching it. Those that were in it for the show were probably mid to upper tier cats... but the upper tiers are a big place. If they're coaxing poor people into doing their dirty work, they're probably not going to stick their heads out to try and chase us around town.

Like, they could have paid a professional hacker to kick this all off, if they didn't mind getting exposed. We're probably safer in the upper tiers than we are anywhere else... nobody wants to make a spectacle of themselves."

Michelle does something of a double take, throwing a wide glance at Fuse. "That makes sense, but... you think about this kinda stuff a lot, don't you?"

Fuse fights back a very slight smile. "I live in the lower tiers. And not the fun parts. I live in like... the wild west parts. If rich people aren't playing weird games with us, then we're all trying to stab each other in the back. You learn to see the strings on the puppet show pretty quick. You've gotta be from the lower tiers, too, right?"

Michelle nods, eyeing the road. "Yeah, but I'm... I guess I was always closer to the middle than most. I ain't rich, but... I'm not poor poor. Bein' lab meat makes it easy to find side jobs, but hard to get paid enough for 'em. It's always the same line... "well, you're a project. I'd rather just pay your handler." Or, "I paid you when I paid my taxes." Ughh. It does not work that way."

You give Michelle directions to your home, and she drives by it. It looks... intact. Untouched, in fact. Given that it's in your family name, selling it off would involve a great deal of red tape. Anyone trying to get rid of the house would likely need to find your next of kin, which... is doable, but they're nowhere near this city. The house looks safe, at least from the outside.

You also send a message to Dr. Finch, asking if he can look up the Lasker incident. He says it sounds familiar, but he's not certain; he'll get back to you about it. You also ask about whether he thinks Fuse is... err, clean, or if he could still be tracked by the bad guys.

"Hm. It's a good question," Dr. Finch starts. "I've made a couple of phone calls to see if I can get hold of some Save the Queen... I've got a few friends in the DIY pharmaceuticals industry that can hook me up. I'm not going to try any, mind you, but I want to take a closer look at how it reacts to one of your blood samples. Your blood is already... well, let's be frank, your blood is weird.

Most red blood cells have specific antibodies, and antigenic substances, which determine their blood type. Your blood imitates those... all of them. They... fold, like a paper plane, turning into whatever they need to be at the time. Your blood started impersonating my blood once it entered my system. That's amazing from a donor standpoint, but terrifying from any kind of scientific standpoint. Blood isn't supposed to do that!

If I had to guess, your blood has learned to imitate the effects of Save the Queen. Whatever control element it was supposed to bestow its progenitor, your blood has co-opted for itself... and done it better, no less. If that's the case, your ability to sense through and control Fuse should override anyone else's. He should be a ghost to whoever had him before."

...I wonder... Fuse is, as of right now, the only subject that contains both Queen and Jane's blood... Eh... Nevermind. Let's keep the experiments to a minimum. Eitherway... guess we look inside?

Wait... are there any medical records of Jane before she died?

I was just about to ask the same thing. Does Jane know what her blood type was before the incident? Like did she gain her blood powers because of Save The Queen, or did she have it all along and its just laid dormant until being exposed to Queen.

Good question, probably wouldn't hurt to look for them when we have a breather.

Does anyone but "Jane" know or remember her real name? It's probably needed fore something like that.

Prior to the incident, the protagonist was a B positive blood type. She'd been checked prior to working at the hospital.

Whether she was ACTUALLY B positive or her blood was "pretending" to be B positive is the question of questions. And to answer another question, Michelle, Dr. Finch, and the main character all know her real name.

Ah, well... upper tier family home, that nice. fewer complications then.

It's either going to be empty or there's going to be an ambush waiting on the other side. Head inside but be cautious.

Oh right, Here's a response Michelle can use for that "I paid you when I paid my taxes" stick. "You paid for new tube batches, what I'm charging you for is my personal maintenance."

It would be a good idea to drop by the Arcade now... after, of course, checking for any suspicious.. rats.

Ask Michelle to go in first

But what if we lose our muscle then why would we risk Michelle? i suggest we send fuse in cause it would just look like a lower tier trying to break into a higher tier's house for some quick cash.
