You try Howler's old password.

. . .

It works. Somehow. You're not sure you believe the greatest criminal mastermind in the city hasn't changed his password in over five years, but here you are, in his computer.

...It's pretty unimpressive.

An internet browser, a pillar server, and a low yield hacking program. Pillar servers let one computer bear some of the computing weight for other computers. It's good if you're trying to get two bad computers to do the work of one good computer. Unless you're doing groundbreaking math, there's only two reasons for anyone to want that: games, and live streaming.

Though, you only see one computer here, so you're not sure what he's been pillaring.

The low yield hacking program is exactly that. It could brute its way into some kid's e-mail in a couple of days, but it's not for professional work... like, say, hacking into Tobu Robotics.

Well, dang. Check his internet browser history? See if he has an email inbox handy to look into? Check if he's got any games or other programs that he might be messing around with?

Really fishy. Maybe the real culprit used Howler's pillar server to route the hacking through? This way Howler would be identified as the culprit?

Seems like he didn't have the tools to pull this off. But, the real program could be hidden somewhere. Check for worm programs and spyware. Even in unlikely folders.
