You start to give Liz a hug, but then realize you still have a hulking monster arm.

You... take a moment to dislodge it, loosening the musculature from around your real arm before letting the huge growthy mass sink to the floor. You hug Liz tightly.

And you hold on.

Until she slowly, reluctantly, lightly hugs you back.

You put your new, second blood alarm on Allen, the raven currently headed to Rockwell; if it sees anything unusual, you'll be alerted.

You also recall that you have a raven near where Site 1... should be, but isn't. You have that raven--Edgar--start making its way back to the city.

Lastly, you have a raven--Poe--hanging out around where the hummer was, not far from Cam's hospital. You... consider sending it

somewhere.

An address, at the edge of your brain. You're not sure what made you think of it, maybe mulling over the weird sense of dread you got in regard to Lydia.

...You decide not to send a raven, though; you're... not sure why you're thinking of that address, but you decide to be less conspicuous. You send Caesar, the pigeon, that direction instead.

You hook the huge arm back up, and start practicing with it--moving the joints, swinging it, and so forth. You talk to Dr. Finch about potentially putting the laser eye implant you retrieved from Bunker X in the miniature version of you, which Dr. Finch agrees should be feasible. You also bring up wanting to seek out where tubecop companies get their preloaded experience from--if you could fill a basic golem brain with, say, combat knowledge, it could make it easier for someone to pilot one of your meat mecha without syncing.

"Yeah, but..." Michelle seems to mull it over. "That might be hard to pull off without, I dunno, wirin' our brains up to the... other brain. Or somethin'. Might just take our chances with the sync."

You also want to go check out the power station, and go looking for more ghosts--

however, you realize it actually is getting pretty late, at the very least approaching night. Exploring an abandoned power station and going on a ghost hunt... might be better to do when it's not dark out.

"Says you," chuckles Caius. "We got lights, I ain't afraid."

Dr. Finch gives him a look, but it breaks into a smile. He doesn't say anything.

Honestly, I'm not really against it. We can do this too. If it turns out to be boring, working on biomech in the red can be done anywhere.

Yeeeah, maybe save it for morning then.

For the evening, maybe try 'machining' biomech pieces in the red, see if its easier or faster than making it around our body. It should be. Then try making specialized adjustments to then, maybe - bone armor, a drill, blood jet foot boosters or... You know, cool mech things.

Lastly, pull some completed and attached pieces out of a portal, just to make sure that's simple enough.

Better wait till after being well rested before exploration, and daylight equals less chance of someone falling in a pit somewhere.
Meanwhile, research time! At the very least we have an alien computer to tinker with and with everyone here if something Does go wrong with interfacing with it there will be less collateral damage.
Also curious if trading up the acid spider and bone whip would yield an acid whip we can then blood copy.

Bioluminescence is a chemical reaction. We would have to get into some chemistry things, so Finch would be a big help there.

An alternative to bioluminescence is... Well I forgot the name of it, but you basically smash sugar together, and it makes a flash of light. Now that I think about it, it's more practical as a flashbang than anything else.

There are a number of ways to make small quantities of light. Peel tape in the dark. Crush crystals, like cracking wint-o-green lifesavers. Any time two bonded surfaces become seperated an electrical discharge happens.

Now many materials will make electricity when force is applied.

I’ve been watching Are you afraid of the dark and sure let’s scary ourselves shitless exploring an abandoned power plant at night. We’re about due for a scary episode anyway. But if we are going to do this we need to take precautions first. Bring along the ghost gun for one and if the girls are not too scared bring them along would be nice to have some ghosts on our side that is of course if the are agreeable to it. Don’t want to pressure them into it.

hmm yeah, let's just go ahead and practice more with our biomech, ideally we could refine it to a point that it doesn't look like a meaty mess and it looks like an actual mech arm but made of bone and muscle (like those Guyver units)

Okay so the two main suggestions are make the biomech, or explore the factory.
I say that Caius, Fuze, and Michelle go to the factory, while Mine and Finch work on the Biomech.
The factory team can bring a vial of blood they can smash if they need Mine to portal in.
But before we do anything in the factory, we need to scout it.

BTW I'm all for calling the mech

lets try expanding that multitasking thing a little further, but in a new direction: Mine, go to sleep, but send mini-blondy with the ghost team. In essence, you will be dreaming your support. Also, if anythings wrong with this idea, best find out while NOT engaging a major enemy.

Thought it was still early-to-mid-day, didn't know how late it was. Really want to get the power plant thing done before the next Thale/Carpenter episode (is the feeling of dread narration foreshadowing or just us the commenters being paranoid?) but at the same time don't want to be stupid about needless risks.
All that said, if the power plant is a large building, I'm not sure daylight is really a factor or not; it might end up being dark and spooky either way. I'd suggest at least scouting the place tonight and then try actually fixing it tomorrow. If there is something scary/spooky that only shows up at night, I doubt it's going to go away just because we turn the power back on (actually if it's a ghost, turning the power back on might make it worse). I think it'd be good to check out the place once both at night and in the day and make sure that if we fix it, something isn't going to break it again.

New idea: we still have that spare teleportation door in storage, right? What if we bring it into our red. We could then transport it through the red to other blood portals, and exit the door. This effectively gives us quick access anywhere in the world as long as there's a drop of blood.

why run dispensable risks when we have time to do it later and in safer conditions, a lot of experiments to do, and most importantly an eerie feeling about something happening to our maverick reporter friend which we would surely be able to help in case of an emergency: which is much easier to do from the safety of the bunker, not from the power station.

Don't get me wrong I'm all about adventure and I do a lot of it in real life. But when lives are at considerable risk, why take the chances?

We actually could give the team a layer of tapetum in their eyes. Tapetum is the stuff that makes a cat's eyes seem to glow in the dark. What the tapetum does is reflect light that the photon sensors in our eyes miss, and gives them a second shot, allowing for more to be seen in low light conditions

While I love the idea, eyes are a really delicate matter to get right. It would be very easy to mess that up, before or after the change. Trying to get rid of a layer of tapetum could be even more dangerous than putting one in.

That being said, I believe printed eyes are a thing in this verse, so sure, why not.

If we Mix our blood with water can we control the water(because it would be inside of it)? wait, we can test that one.
Is the blood being inside something a limitation mom had or just us? If just us is it because we think that way?(given Chapter 1 its doubtful but still plausible)
What happens if you close a portal when something is half in and half out?(any dangers to that?)

Explanation: This list is about 95%-99% complete. I may have missed a stray item or two but most inaccuracy will likely come from trying to logically determine where something came from. For instance: Syringes, bandages, and level just seem to pop-up in near-infinite supply as needed as long as being near-infinite is not exploited (and so will have their first instance listed but quantity will not be tracked). Far, far longer than I'd care to admit. I had to re-read the entire comic for the above stated reasons in the explanation that not all items are bolded or even necessarily said to be acquired outright. This list was even longer but I decided to leave out items we no longer own (like the makeshift flameflower and the first camera golems) to trim the fat.

I don't know how server strain works for websites but I'm fairly certain that monster of a list wouldn't be a healthy thing to post every single page. I was thinking I'd post/update it at the end of every chapter though it probably would be better to put that list up on the wiki so viewing it is an option rather than being forced (imagine having to scroll past that every time you want to check for new comments). I decided to post it early since MM confirmed he'd be on hiatus quite a bit longer (this'll give people something to do/look over to plan out until then).

Also for those curious, I believe Inventory Guy's last post was page 44. MM takes a stab at it page 56 but I very much doubt it'd be at all practical for him to post that monster of a list every single update.

Also also, I just want to note that although there are categories, nothing is duplicated. The categories were added when it became evident the list was getting too long to be practical to view if you were just looking for, say, what weapons we currently own. With that in mind, the categories are just to help organize. The two biggies are Tools/Consumables which are items that should be useful in a lot of situations and Miscellaneous/Plot Items which are separated because they may or may not be useful at all (the Laser-Eye Implant, for example, might become useful but until we figure out how to use it, it's just a thing we own).
I would have included a lot of this in the first post but I hate big posts and really wanted to minimize that first post to just the bare essentials.
