Morgenstern
You decide to take some time away, and give Edison a while to cool down and let it all sink in.

In the meantime, though, you leave blood around the containment cell and the entrance port, and set your blood alarm to go off if anything is tampered with or anything unusual happens. That way, if Edison does make an escape attempt, you'll know about it.

You tell Edison that you're not giving up on her, and for what it's worth... you're sorry.

You'll be back.

You take Faraday and Tesla, and you go to retrieve their things so you can return to Bunker A with them.

While Caius sets up Tesla's tent in the barracks area, you and Michelle head to the lab to update everyone on what happened.

"You're tough," Caius says solemnly as he's putting the little tent back up.

"No I'm not," Tesla sniffles. "I'm sad. And scared. And... I was no help at all."

"Nah," replies Caius, shaking his head. "That ain't what tough means. I get sad and scared all tha time, an' lord knows I don't always get stuff done. ...Heck, sometimes I jus' make it worse. You still gave it a shot, though. You even bein' there, an' agreein' to let your sister out when y'knew what could happen... doin' all that even THOUGH you were scared, that's what tough is."

Tesla looks at the floor.

Caius turns to her, smiling a bit. "I'm proud o' ya. ...Both o' ya. Ya did the right thing, or tried to. That's better'n a lot o' people do."

Tesla looks up at him, her expression changing as she suddenly realizes something. "It... didn't hurt earlier, did it? When I grabbed your leg? I... Faraday and I have been practicing, trying to have more control, but I wasn't sure-- and-- I didn't think about it--"

"A little," Caius chuckles, answering honestly before giving a big shrug. "But it's alright. I'm tough, too."

Caius leans down, and gives her a hug. "We'll work on it. You are gettin' better."

You finish informing everyone of what all went down in Bunker E.

Dr. Finch nods. "That... that may well be the best we could have hoped for, certainly the best we could have anticipated."

"She's just mad, and confused," states Faraday.

Michelle nods. "We'll give her some time to cool off, take another swing at it later when she ain't screamin' at us. When she gets to thinkin' about it, she'll realize we ain't got nothin' to gain from playin' her."

"The real question," Fuse begins, "is... now what?"

You heave a big sigh. There is... a lot to do. You still have some... er... containers on Mars that need to be properly stored. In Mom's red. And then never visited again.

"I can take care o' those," Michelle offers. "We're just... dumpin' 'em in the mouth...?"

"Yes," the large mouth confirms, startling Lydia. "I've sorted myself in such a way that I can keep the items out of human reach."

"I gotta take Lydia back to her... uh... van," says Fuse. "Un... less she wants to stay here, and not sleep in a van tonight."

Lydia shakes her head. "As much as I'm TOTALLY PSYCHED about actual ghosts, I have some cases of my own to get cracking on. Plus, Griz and I need to get to work on letting the world know who Patton Thale really is. Such is the life of a maverick reporter~"

"Now that there are no self aware identities in the electrical system," Dr. Finch starts, "I'm going to begin preparations to wire the power to Ilworth. We'll need to actually investigate the town's power station, at some point, but... the only real hurry is on behalf of the comfort of our Mars guests."

And as for you...

well

hoo boy.

Now that you're more confident in your portal powers, you want to try messing with those more. Also, trying to stretch your attention better, so you could potentially make more than one blood alarm. ...And also make a biomech. You can make golems, and you can make bone armor--the next logical conclusion is just building a huge battle suit out of organic material.

"Hell yes," Michelle exclaims.

Lydia visibly winces, clearly fighting the urge to stay after hearing that... but then sighs. "No, no Lydia. You have things to do." She turns, pointing a finger straight at Fuse. "You will tell me how this goes."

Fuse nods, shrugging his shoulders. "I'm sure I will."

After Finch is done with the electric system in Ilworth. Let’s put the laser implant into Mini mine so we have our own little spy/assasin. Then after Mine is done experimenting with the biomech draw some blood and stow it someplace outside in the street of the city where our door to our base is that way in a pinch we can make another one of those blood bugs and from that portals and meat walls. It just makes me nervous that currently the only Defence for our base is that they don’t know where it is.

I'm not sure if it'll fit in MiniMine's eye, but we could give her a MegaMan style arm blaster

Poor Fuse.

You know, in the biomech vein, why even put a person in it? A giant golem will probably be just as capable of most things, with the added benefit of nobody dying when it inevitably takes a 120mm shell to the face.
Skullrama 1st Aug 2018, 12:03 AM edit delete reply
Currently, the big difference is that we can easily and precisely control something we are in contact with, as we can use our senses directly when wielding it. Less concentration for better results.

This is not helpful if we are planning to put OTHER people in it, but one step at a time, really.

Also, it would be another layer of protection for anyone who's inside of it.

Multi tasking, Mine can currently only control one thing at a time. having more then one attacking from all angles is more effective, and can still make them durable enough to fight tanks, Mine literally has an (effectively)infinite supply of material to use and can make them basically as dense as she wants to since they are sustained via the red and not eating.

Before Lydia leaves, we should tell her about the bone-armor ritual, and maybe use marker to put the required symbol on her.

Hmmm, i think we could stretch our attention, mess with portals and keep fixing Elizabeth's skeleton all at the same time. (My +1)
Might be the best way to get a lot done.
Or we can put all our eggs in one basket and go for for brute force with the Bio-Mechs.
We all know that would make Michelle happy. d:
But, the Bio-Mechs might take a vary long time. x:

...Oh wow that *is* weird.

Of course, Caius has multiple lifetimes of experiences crammed into his head, so in that sense he might still be older?

Completely forgot we have yet to actually investigate the power plant itself. We have no idea if it's still in workable condition or not.

Unless anyone else has suggestions, that'd be the next step I'd like to take. Be sure to take all those non-EM induction flashlights we've acquired with us.
Will definitely want Fuse with us as both one of our best electricians and a source of light/pest control. Might want to just take the whole away-team to (hopefully) quickly investigate, clean out and fix-up the power plant.

We can focus on experimenting with blood powers while physically resting after taking care of the power plant.
Skullrama 1st Aug 2018, 10:40 AM edit delete reply
Honestly, I don't really think Mine is necessary for this task - Fuse and Finch can handle it themselves.

If Mine has to be present for everything we do, we'll never make any progress on our list. We need to delegate tasks.
Blue_Elite 1st Aug 2018, 3:05 PM edit delete reply
Given the nature of the experiments at the Ilworth bunker, I'm concerned the power plant might be haunted by a super ghost or something.

Then again it might be like Bunker D and all the scares are false alarms.
Cuttlefish 1st Aug 2018, 8:07 PM edit delete reply
If there are dangerous hauntings in Illworth, the ghost gun will pick them up, and hopefully, solve them too.

Alright, besides being careful with Lydia and giving her a scout-animal escort (and check on the arcade) as some have noted above,

Let's begin the biomech small: Muscle tissue, jointed bone, then a whole arm made of muscle and bone armor let's put that in contact with ourselves and see if we can move and feel through them like we did the bandages!
Skullrama 1st Aug 2018, 9:46 AM edit delete reply
Agree on how to start mech biomech experiments. Gotta begin with the basics. Once we can do a super muscle arm, we can get to more tricky, advanced applications.
Twyll 1st Aug 2018, 3:02 PM edit delete reply
If we could get our hands on some of those little artists' model figurines, or even some skeletons mounted for classroom use, we could use those as a basis and kinda wrap flesh around them to experiment with making them move. That would probably help us learn how to put things together internally, by playing around with that some.

Collect the box with the cactus. It resembles the Elvis computer. Maybe it is less obtuse to operate. Maybe it will add computing power, or data. Maybe it is a cactus.

Then watch with horror as The Deck launches a biomech assault on their government two weeks later, having decided using these things in underground pit battles would be a waste. Whelp!

You mean applaud as an uprising ousts and institutionally prejudice government. Any govt. that criminalises people for being born deserves a big ol' bio-boot up them. (not actually saying we give The Deck the 'mech, but still)

Priorities top to bottom:
-Blood vial for Lydia and give her Caius's universal contact number and tell her to Call First before doing anything risky.
-Ask if anyone who doesn't already have it would like the bone armor summoning scrawl? (Mav and family, definitely Lydia, etc.)
-Confirm containers are secure and thank Michelle.
-Blood eggs at the inside And outside of the terrestrial Bunker entrances. One inside for the Mars one, practice making a meat wall in a hurry from an egg.
-Check Elizabeth, see if anything still needs to be fixed up.
-Power plant exploration and confirmation that all is well then begin repairs. (Fuse, Caius, Michelle)
- Investigate the results of putting the bone armor summon on paper. Ie. does it still work and any differences in quality and size.
-Trade up a flesh golem (see Lumpy) and biomech once we have a blood version of both up and functional to the best of our ability.
-Repair and install the eye laser on Minimine or make it portable.
-One alien computer, strange blue cactus, cube gel, glowing shroom, acid spider corpse, and bone whip for research. (Finch, Fuse)
