The three of you are probably strong enough to pull Fear-Mine out of the floor. If you confront her, then she has to--

but on the other hand, confronting your fear might just scare her more, and she may not want to talk. Her MO seems to be gagging her targets, which will make a discussion more difficult--

but you can't just run! You could try to take Science-Mine with you, using your combined strength, and then once you get back to the bedroom--

but she should be safe, right? Fear-Mine isn't trying to hurt anyone, she's trying to protect them. Science-Mine shouldn't be in any danger--

"YOU guys do whatever it is you're doing!," Visor-Mine states, "I'M going to go get the big one!"

She takes off down the hall. More arms burst out of the floor. ...How many arms does this you have?

You take out the scalpel you acquired earlier. You and Red try to drag Science-Mine away from where she was pushed up at, while you try cut her free of the bandages. They're... tough, a lot more durable than you anticipated.

You suspect you're starting to feel the effects of being away from your... well, other selves. You're conflicted, torn, having difficulty deciding one way or the other what to do--it feels like you want to take one option just as strongly as the other, but doing neither is worse.

You juuust manage to cut Science-Mine's wrists free, when you feel hands gripping at your ankles. You're pulled to the floor with some force, long arms dragging you away from the other two yous.

Red and Science-Mine grab your wrists, bringing you into a game of tug-o-war with Fear-Mine. ...However, you can see more arms beginning to force their way through the floor, looming toward Red and Science.

You're not... real sure where the main body of Fear-Mine is. In the floor, somewhere.

"What do we do?!," Red asks.

"Mmf mmhhhrgmphf!," Science-Mine replies, her mouth still tightly bandaged.

Attempt to reason with Fear!Mine? She might be willing to talk.

otherwise I got nothing
Skullrama 18th Jun 2018, 5:03 PM edit delete reply
Welp!

The other two need to go get Rage-Mine with Visor-Mine so they can use their combined strength to pull Fear-Mine out of the floor. Wrestling for Main-Mine is a losing option.

As for us. Try... comforting Fear-Mine. Is there like, a lullaby we liked as a child or something? Maybe sing it. Or a TV show that filled us with courage and excitement to be the good guy? Belt out that theme song. Anything to get through to her, at least enough to slow her down.
Gigafreak 18th Jun 2018, 5:51 PM edit delete reply
Sending the other two with Visor-Mine is not going to bring Anger-Mine here faster than Visor-Mine going by herself. What we can do now is stall for time, so thst the reinforcements can arrive before these three are all bound and gagged. Struggle against the hands, try talking to Fear-Mine with as much composure as possible in the unlikely event

...that she'll listen. Try to cut the gag off Science-Mine too, while doing so; she might know something.

Get Science-Mine's gag cut, pronto, get Nurse-Mine to do it if she has to.
DreamingofRoses 18th Jun 2018, 5:25 PM edit delete reply
This. Get Red to finish cutting the gag while main Mine tries to reassure scared Mine and ask her to come up.

I was going to suggest that we use the scalpel to cut our arm open and blood the bandages to force them loose, but then I had the thought that perhaps the other mines can control our blood too, but then came a thought. Do we have mind-blood? There is no harm in checking, after all.

But yes, this. I agree.

By #142 there's nine mine. This one Should be everyone and this last one will be how we combine ourselves back to normal, once subdued. Think flluffy cats, its worked before at calming fear and only has to last long enough to have the big mine get here and lend a hand. If that doesn't work big guns time; we have more than enough allies who have helped us up until now that bringing their personas into this will tip our hands in our favor.

Is the desk another Mine? It holds things. Mine went through a collect trophies phase.
Blue_Elite 18th Jun 2018, 9:14 PM edit delete reply
The desk does not speak or even react to being stabbed. Pretty sure it's just furniture. Meat furniture but furniture regardless. Like the computer or books it can be interacted with but it doesn't appear to have a mind of its own.

Focus on bringing Fear-Mine out into the open. Just think about that, and go from there. Visor-Mine is already trying to bring out the big guns whether we do anything or not, so let's use that as solid footing to act and follow her lead.

We need to get some time until Rage!Mine comes.
Try to talk to Fear!Mine, say things that can stop her to think for a moment. Like "Would Mom be happy if we simply capture and silence everyone we care for?! Even when she and dad were fugitives, dad still worked and acted with freedom. Mom extended his life to be all the time possible, but she didn't restrained him!"
Even if it doesn't change her mind, we simply need to get some time until Rage!Mine comes XD.
Skullrama 18th Jun 2018, 5:55 PM edit delete reply
Yes - I think we just need to buy time, whatever it takes. Science and Red need to just do their best to not be captured before help gets here.
Caydenite 18th Jun 2018, 5:51 PM edit delete reply
Pass the scalpel to Red Mine, so she can cut Science free.

If there's sync like bleed between Mines, work on calming yourself, don't let your fear strengthen scared-y Mine.

I'm thinking maybe we should just let her pull us down so we can have a face to face and hug it out. >_> Crazy as that sounds..
nicolas arboleya 19th Jun 2018, 6:56 PM edit delete reply
1 how do you hug while bound.
2 how to you have a face to face while surrounded by meat floor
Blue_Elite 18th Jun 2018, 6:05 PM edit delete reply
It's time for some tough love. Fear!Mine needs to learn that she can't carry the whole world by herself. We can show her that by dragging her up and out of the floor. If we win this contest of strength, we prove that together we're stronger than our fears.
Fear!Mine needs to learn that it's okay to be afraid but that you can't let that fear control you. She needs to work past her fear and let it motivate her to help us rather than hinder us.

We need all the Mines here to pull fear!Mine out of the floor; and then hug her until she settles down.

Try to comfort Fear!Mine. Lullaby, kitties, anything. Maybe try to level her, if you have access to that sort of thing in this brainscape. It's hard to say anything to somebody who's too scared to listen.
If that doesn't work (or even if it does, actually), try to reason with her - Mine can't forget not just how strong she is, but also how strong each of our friends is and how strong everybody together is. If they're hurt, we can fix them; if they're in danger, we can protect them; but without their help, there's a hard limit to how much we can accomplish. As a collective unit? We can do anything. They keep us safe as much as we keep them safe, and they keep each other safe; keeping them "out of danger" would do more harm to them, and to us, in the long run.

We did a strawpoll on Discord and ungag Science and comfort Fear won.

Though, it's also been pointed out that comforting and ungagging aren't mutually exclusive, and neither is comforting and talking to Fear. Leah suggested something like "it'll be fine, we're all safe" while also adding a bit of reasoning in between all the shushing

I think the comment section is part of the problem. My guess would be by not having a singular idea we are causing this to happen, we most likely need to come up with an idea and have one singular person comment it.

Wouldn't surprise me. Sounds like we need to get our reasoning straight and decide what we want to do. Make suggestions, and then have everyone sign onto the one with the most support.

So, my suggestion is to point out that Fear!Mine is herself being terrifying by kidnapping the other parts of her mind, and that she needs to stop since no one in here is trying to hurt any of them right now; rage has calmed down.

Then we need to explain that locking up Mine's friends, taking over their lives, will just drive them away mentally, exactly how she's driving the other parts of herself away now.

Point out that Thale and his followers have pursued them directly before. Running and hiding aren't options that will work in the future, especially since Thale can probably get into the bunkers.

Then remind her of all the scary things that the group has overcome by working together. Together, they can win. Sure it'll be dangerous and scary, but sitting around in a dark place or running for your lives, always afraid of being caught, of losing everything and everyone, that's scarier than fighting. At least when you stand and fight, it's on your own terms, with you in control. Running, hiding, that's just letting yourself be hunted like some kind of animal. And it'll put that same fear in the group, too.

Then offer up a massive group hug from all the Mine's present, including nurse and rage.

This is all great stuff - assuming we can manage not to get gagged before getting a third of it out. Couldn't hurt to start with the shocker first - 'You're scaring everyone!' see if she pauses.

Might be a good idea here. Either hesitation, full stop, or going after main Mine first.
nicolas arboleya 19th Jun 2018, 6:54 PM edit delete reply
We need to get all the us's to each pull a differant t arm and pull her into the open. Blind rage stopped when it could see so maybe once we expose her she will stop or listen
