You carefully move your bug out of the vent, and have it hide behind the audio and video equipment.

The two people in the room stare silently out the window, watching Hope and his associates harass Grizwald.

The secretary speaks up. "The gift we left with their vehicle has been discovered and disposed of. They are likely aware of what we've left beneath this building, as well."

The man replies in the same flat, dead monotone. "Indeed. It is irrelevant. We had hoped to inconvenience them at best, anything beyond that would have been a fortunate bonus. Knowing what's beneath these streets will do nothing to help them deal with it."

"They could become suspicious of its presence," the secretary states. "It could jeopardize our plans for the vagrant."

The man clicks his tongue against his teeth. "Then they will arrive early, and they will die sooner than scheduled. The original plan was ideal, but even without the added mass of the congregation there's nothing they can do here. We know their limits. We have seen them. This is beyond what the nurse is capable of."

You almost contact the others to ask about who this man is... but you realize you already know.

You saw a picture of him, back when you were infiltrating Macland Row's mind.

This man is Patton Thale.

Likely one of his clones--if it were the "real" Thale, he would be more sickly, and he wouldn't need to talk out loud with the secretary--he could just do it in his head, like you do. Thale probably sent the secretary, the duplicate, and the guards to reassure Brother Hope. In any way that matters, these are really just two oversynced bodies of Thale's.

Thale is underestimating us. Good. Now go and eat the monster under the church.

Seriously though, we should plan how to deal with the monster.
Too bad it's time to go to bed here, when I wake up all of you had already the best plans and I can only catch up how you dealt with it without me :(

Oh, You don't know yet! Our current plan to deal with the monster under the church is to send a blood bug inside it, maneuver it to the monster's brain, and then make it explode/inject (deadly nerotoxins-jk) some kind of deadly chemical into the brain. We just haven't done it *yet* because we still need to save our resident hobo.

I meant we should seriously come up with how/what we do.
And against my expectations there was no update yet.

Well, this atleast confirms that the giant Monster in the church is the only thing they have XD.

Certainly, that thing is a bit above our level, but Thale doesn't know the ways we have to increase our fighting strength XD.
Practice creating a parasite-like Golem. One with an exoskeleton strong enough to endure high pressure (If Thale knows that it is there, he'll try to destroy it. We need to make it resistant enough to survive XD.). If we can make it enter the body of the giant Monster, we can use it's mouth to transfer Blood until, or we take control of the thing, or it pops XD.

If someone has an idea about how Thale could stop a Parasite, tell it. We need to think of countermeasures XD.

There is an easy way to remove a parasyte. Exocytosis, the act of segregating and ejecting part of a cell, he would just eject a large chunk of the monster like a starfish discharing it's stomach

Mmm, the exocytosis is a problem...
Maybe we can make the Parasyte growing roots inside the body of the Monster at the same time that it pulls Blood into it's body, to make it imposible of expel unless to Monster takes off a HUGE portion of it's body, and taking control of that portion to create more parasytes?
Mmm, that would take a lot of time... Maybe a Parasyte isn't te best idea to Kill this thing...

It could work we go into blood mode and attack with multiple parasites.
The main advantage to a complex being like a parasite over say just our standard blood or a microbe is if Thale doesn't kill it, it'll just move on to the next part and keep attacking/feasting. A parasite straddles the line of being too small to physically kill and being too big for a (un)natural immune system to fight off.

But it'd definitely need to be a swarm, not just one bug/parasite to be effective enough to bring down Thale's monster.

Can't we just send massive amounts of mass from the red. And make the parasyte so large so fast it can't remove it.

Well, this is unlikely, but if Thale made the monster with acid blood, we could be screwed.

If it had acid blood it would be unbloodable by Thale. meaning Thale would have no direct control.

Have several eggs prepared for multiple tries.

Have a sturdy, fast generating exoskeleton.

If the monster is acid then the golem will need to be coated in mucus and stomach lining type material.

If Thale removes parts to protect the mass, it is less monster for later. Make sure any shedds are destroyed.

Consult with Red and and Mom's red to determine whether we should make a full on blood portal, devour the monster whole, then combat it in isolation of our overwhelming, near infinite, red. Isolated in our red it will only have the brainpower it posesses, and no added resources. It should be out of communication with Thale.

I still prefer the plan to try and sneak the bug into the monster, small scale, then just kill the monster in one giant explosion of extra mass from it's inside bits - before Thale or the monster realize it is there.

I would see about the validity of the pool of blood plan - it has to clean itself up too. The exploding brains from the inside plan is still first. Simply absorbing monsters would tip our hand too much. Having a backup plan is keen.

If we are percieved as too powerful to suddenly then aither Thale will go to ground, or get stupid and attack all out before we are ready.

Even if we target the brain, nothing stops Thale from just growing another one (e.g. Liz's arm).

If we're going bug swarm, has Finch figured out enough for us to reproduce the acid spider's physiology? We could flood the tunnels with acid bugs to kamikaze on the monster, a la baneling rush. They wouldn't leave much behind for Thale to examine either.

If there's nothing more to listen to here, move back to the downstairs blood bug and finish investigating there. I'd still like to be sure there's no other backup explosives or mini-monsters waiting.

Once that's done, strategize with the group back at the bunker. If we still go with the blood bug invasion idea, I'm suggesting just mimicking a swarm of ants. What they can do to a large target is horrifying. Not to mention certain types of ants are able to spit venom/acid, useful in case of having to mine through bone. If we can figure out how to produce the same acid as that spider in the lab, we're pretty much all set as far as Thale's monster goes (assuming we CAN pull it off).
Saving Grizwald at the same time will be the tricky part.

Before we egg-schlorp out of here, let's leave another egg here, hidden behind the A/V equipment, so we can easily return. Perhaps as a desparate last resort, we could port the bug here, YANK OUT ALL THE WIRES IN A PANIC, and then port away (without leaving an egg behind this time) before anyone can catch a glimpse of the bug.

If we can attach hearing-hairs on the egg, that'd be a bonus. We could passively continue to listen in without requiring the bug to be here.

Huh, nice to put a name to a face in proper.

we should definitely tell the others that Thale seems to have constructed the Church deal with our own limits in mind, we should probably come up with a better plan then just busting in, maybe try and figure out some manner of new trick to pull out of our sleeves to keep Thale on his sickly-ass toes.

Hmm. The 'beyond what Jane can do' might be Thale sounding overconfident, but he might also have some Tradesmen-info on her ('can she defeat the tentacles - no').

Either we circumvent the whole thing through applied portal usage, or we might need something else before saving Grizwald.
Knowing about the monster's shape and size will probably let us avoid error!Fuse's fate, still.

In the interests of proving Thale's underestimation of us to be the total bullshit that we know it to be...

We have some samples of StQ, right? We should probably have Finch be doing Science to determine how the fake blood reacts to various kinds of toxin-- I'm thinking we might want to go for a blend of cytotoxins involving hemotoxins (deadly to blood cells) and neurotoxins (deadly to nerve cells, and thus potentially deadly to fancy alien blood cells that act like nerve cells), like many venomous snakes have.

Hmmm... I wonder. A minimally regulated libertarian dystopia *is* a pretty comfortable environment to be a venomous reptile keeper in, provided you can deal with the "dystopia" side of things of course. I wonder if we could find the City's equivalent of Viperkeeper and see if we can buy some of his stock? Having venom-producing organisms to work with would help a *lot* with our efforts to create fast-acting, anti-Thale-blood toxins. Other options include aquarists that keep blue-ring octopodes and cone snails and the like.

The problem that I see with Poison and things like that, is that maybe they can be cured with the Blood. Remember that we already cured Finch of a damn flesh-eating virus before XD.

Rather than kill the monster, could we just neutralize it? Say we parasitically invade and pump it full of drugs. A lot. Maybe you could mellow it out, and patton wont know why his monster isn't attacking.

It would seem that they are very unaware that we have a magic book. Something from that would come completely out of left field, and that's probably our best bet at getting in and out unharmed.

hmmmmm the bug gives a lot of options if you could create a queen version to lay those eggs and set up a nest you could breed automatically a small army of blood bugs. my bet is three types one thats ant like both in looks and form (as in looks like real ants) and a wasp version same with the ants mostly for recon tho the wasp version could inject people with blood and other stuff. the third version is a more custom version. basically our own monsters. i would also see if the blood could affect thing like if you got the heart of a big monster could you afffect the heart to start making more of your blood to control the full monster. oh have a version of the bug that starts pumping large amount of blood in the beast controlling it is much better then just killing it

What if the ritual to swap mind/soul works on the monster? We could swap the monster with a fly or something insignificant (and far from the bunker and us, because swapping mind/soul would give it the blood of thale and it would become a sensor for him)

While the fly brain would not know how to react or move with the monster body

Maybe ask information to the tradesman to understand if the ritual could work...
