You start to give the golem runes, so it can cast the bone armor ritual--

only to realize it can't talk. You convert some of its extra mass (and it definitely has some) into teeth. And vocal cords. And a tongue. And... at least enough of an air pocket to let it vocalize.

You hope it's never necessary, because you're afraid of what this thing sounds like. You alter its pigmentation to simulate the bone armor ritual.

You and your friends gather some random clothes, and bandages, and dress the golem up to try and hide it.

Michelle has a great deal of trouble not laughing. "Yeah, it's perfect."

Even Fuse is smirking. "...Sure. Yeah. Nobody'll ever know."

It takes some practice for you to get the golem walking--without a functioning brain to give commands to, you have to walk it more or less manually. Its... walking motions prompt more laughter from Michelle, and some from Caius. Dr. Finch tries not to watch, and Fuse just shakes his head.

You walk the golem out to your car. Michelle, Dr. Finch, and Elizabeth join it, with Dr. Finch taking the wheel. They head off to where the hummer is.

While they make their way there, you check back on your blood bug. You suspect this hallway doesn't see much action, because your bug is right where you left it.

Portal In Time
The bug is pretty much out in the open - I'm a little worried somebody will find it, it's about the size of a doorknob... Could we move it to behind the painting's frame? A little cover would still be cover.

Also, Jane, time to get more familiar with the golem on the drive. Let's move around the arms, mess with fine control for the legs (For gas and breaks), and just.. Brush up. Driving's no easy feat, if there's anything Red's dissociation has taught us.

Let's check out the library that's behind the door, first. Or... maybe it's a reading room. Could be either. May as well take a closer look.

I'd vote for checking the downstairs. It's where we'll likely end up after taking out the tunnel monster, so it might be important to check for obtacles or guards or traps now-- rather than barreling into them when it's time to deploy. Driving via manual muscle control is certainly not going to be easy; Jane's full attention would have to be focused on that, rather than bug-scouting. Burns some of the time before nightfall. We might be time-limited in our scouting time, especially if something bad happens and we end up having to make Lumpy fight or detour or hide.

For now that's good enough since there is not much time.
Next time we should totally try trading up bioprinters and biopaste first so that we can print out a whole person.
Just inject that with one vial of our blood should be enough to control it.
Not so sure about brain activity then, but that's why we use a tradesmen bioprinter, they must be the best.
Mochi 19th May 2018, 6:23 AM edit delete reply
you realize bioprinters are very large and very expensive right? and we only have one? and it works just fine?
1977 19th May 2018, 6:45 AM edit delete reply
Large: trading circle in Ilworth, it's big enough for cars, should be big enough for bioprinters

Expensive: we aquire them in Southden anyway, so maybe we get them on the cheap with help of the deck

Ours works fine: the printer on mars is the prototype and we printed dozens of fingers before we got the hang of it, the bioprinters we trade up are already modern ones and we get a Tradesmen bioprinter out of it they probably accept even red instead of biopaste
Gigafreak 19th May 2018, 10:16 AM edit delete reply
Southden is miles from the nearest bunker; we have no good way to transport a bioprinter to the bunker from there, let alone several. Would any company even ship things to the abandoned area where the doorway is? ...Would we be willing to even give a shipping address to a company we don't know we can trust?

...Does Southden even HAVE bioprinter tech? Can't assume every country has the same level of tech in every field, considering we just went over the fact that we can't viably acquire firearms there. If the Deck, a criminal gang, cannot acquire weapons for us cheaply, then it seems unlikely that the can acquire specialized hospital machinery for any type of discount.

If we could afford that many bioprinters, we could just buy a new bulletproof hummer rather than having to fetch the one we already have.
Skullrama 19th May 2018, 10:30 AM edit delete reply
I assume that some day we will take the time to renovate a large trading circle in Ilworth and trade up cars - at that point, we may as well think of any other large things we might want to trade.

Bioprinters, however, being extremely large, highly specialized pieces of medical equipment, are probably obscenely expensive. Even the deck has limits - they probably can't just source up five bioprinters because we ask nicely and hack them a website.

Now - if we were okay with somewhat outdated bioprinters, acquiring them gets a bit more realistic but we would still need to figure out a few things. Where do they go when replaced? Are they broken down for parts, or still fairly intact? Can we like, get a big truck to transport them?

Going back to acquiring guns... We're forgetting we have a valuable resource in Macland. We could probably arrange various "heavy equipment" quite easily.

If we're not needed have the blood bug look into the library. If people don't go here often, I'd want to know what's in there (maybe everyone in Hope's group have Kindles?).

Also uh... do we want to make multiple Lumpys to trade up? I wonder if we trade them up WITH the Bunker X acquired bone armor tattoo if we can get an actual bodyguard golem. I'd assume between that and the hummer mission we'd pretty much lose Friday (but IF we get a bodyguard golem, we wouldn't have to worry about being shot by 50+ Hope guards while rescuing Grizwald).
P.S.: Even awesomer - mecha-golem that Mini-Jane can pilot.

EDIT: Oh, and we should inform Jury we can confirm there's a monster underneath Hope's church right now. Also ask even if we can't specifically connect said monster to Hope and/or Thale, if getting any evidence of that might allow her to get some more feds involved to act as a smokescreen for us (if getting them in Hope's church causes Thale to move the monster away, all we have to do is rescue Grizwald from that point).

We need a Power-Rangers outfit for Mini-Jane in that case:)

Honestly, I think Mini-Jane's current outfit isn't too far removed from one. You'd really just need the helmet.

Mind, even with that aside, if we do get a fuckin' ridiculous mecha-golem for mini-Jane to pilot, I hope it has speakers, if only so I can suggest it plays this at max volume.

On a more relevant note, I gotta agree with Blue's point. Seems like pointing out that monster is a thing to Jury seems like a good idea.

Set your Blood Alarm to go off if the bug hears anything from/about Hope or Gargan.

I think I have "Elvis" the computer figured out. It is made from low end parts, so it is somewhat a novelty machine since we used out dated and low end parts to make the trade. It probably is a jukebox server of sorts, and we need to hack it back to useful to our needs. Half the drive is likely full of pirated music and movies from points unknown.

That said it is still a powerful machine with considerable capacity and processing.

I bet if we repeat the trade with clean machines (of various age and part sources) running the door code program we can get what we want.

If we then take all the monitors and speakers separately we can get a projection unit for Elvis and whatever new machine we get.

While practicing moving the golem would be a good idea, finishing the scouting of the enemy base ahead of our strike will likely be more valuable.

I say we finish mapping out the upper area, at least briefly, just so we have a full idea of the layout, then move downstairs. We may not have time to get super detailed in every room, but just having a complete mental map when we plan our approach will be very helpful.

I say to hide the bug in the shelves of the library while we are at other things.
And for now, I want to create a Golem. Various Golems. Human sized, but a bit bigger, and more like an gorilla than a human XD. They don't need to be specially well made, they can even be made like the small ones we exchanged for the Mini-Jane, but with more powerfull muscles. And the Ritual of Bone-Armor in them. And then, echange them in the Ritual of Trade. I want a pair of BIG hands and a meat Shield before we start the Assault XD.

This is a good idea, but we are currently limited in the size of the portal we take stuff outnlf the red from... We had to build Lumpy piece by piece.

To pull thia off, I think we need to figure out a way to increase the size of our portal to the red... It is based on our hands, so currently habd sized, if I recall. Theoretically, we could place our whole torso in the red and pull out torso sized things but.... We've never tried that before.

And if we make a Pool with our Blood? Making it, and placing our hurt hand in it to let in bond with the Blood in our Body, maybe would let us to use the Pool to create damn big portal XD.
Arislide 19th May 2018, 1:54 PM edit delete reply
To state a point that I think is pretty clear by now.

The DM isn't fi g to let us have something as obscenely powerful as a pool of blood teleport.

Might I suggest we stop trying to build a plan around it?
ReikoLupus 19th May 2018, 2:20 PM edit delete reply
I refuse.
Even if something is impossible, I don't care!
What's important is that we are trying!
And maybe, in the future our enemies are going to grow to the point where the Pool would be accepted XD.
Gigafreak 19th May 2018, 2:49 PM edit delete reply
Jane has blood-portaled her own body through a pool of blood before. However, it was involuntary (she was unconscious at the time) and it took a month to pop out the other end if memory serves.
Meaning Jane does not know how to do it on purpose yet, and we would need to somehow convince Hope's cult to kindly delay their ritual by a month if we want to portal even a single thing through the blood-pool method.
ReikoLupus 19th May 2018, 3:19 PM edit delete reply
I'm not planing in using it as a portal to go whererever we want, I'm thinking of using it to extract an absurd amount of material of our Red.
