You have your raven start checking the exterior of the hummer--peeking underneath it and the like to see if anything's been strapped on. You suspect that a more thorough scan with a proper device might be better, though, for finding bugs and the like.

"What if we sent a golem?," Caius asks. "To get tha hummer, I mean. Y'know... in case it does got a bomb or somethin'."

You consider it. Most of your golems have been small, though, and not... exactly equipped for working a steering wheel. The only one that's had anything resembling manual dexterity is the miniature you, and she can't reach the pedals. You'd have to make a specialized golem--something much bigger than you have before.

You're also not good at making parts of people, nevermind a whole person. The golem would... probably be terrifying.

Still, it is an option.

That said, you agree that picking up guns and ammo in the city is the better option than trying to buy them in Southden.

Maybe make a bunch of larger golems and hope we can get a full-size body double out of trading them up?
Gigafreak 18th May 2018, 4:30 PM edit delete reply
As silly as this sounds, there are quite a few possible benefits to a full-size body double. Not least of which is bait for tunnel monsters.
undeadDreamer 18th May 2018, 3:47 PM edit delete reply
Red looked like she was making a human shaped body when you two were being separated. Maybe you can do it, you're just thinking about it too much?
Nayru9572 18th May 2018, 3:49 PM edit delete reply
Or mini-me and a smaller golem for the pedals. Mini-me's specialty is that we don't need to manually control her, after all.

WHY making it human-shaped?
We can put a meat-ball inside the Hummer, and let it grow in it like our Mom's Red grows in walls. Once it covers the front part of the Hummer, it is going to have everything we need to move in contat with it's body. Controlling the car that way is going to be really simple XD. And since the Hummer has tinted-windows, nobody is going to know about the abherration driving it XD.

We would have to be there in person for this - pretty sure we can't portal more mass to our golems, because they are not 'us'. The advantage of a golem with 'driving limbs' is that it could be discreetly dropped off near by and crawl over there itself.

And if the police are watching it, they see a horrible, shambling abomination crawl in the car and drive off. How do they call that one in?

?
We are already transfering mass from our Red to our Golems. They ARE us. They aren't like Blooded people or animals, that are independant beings that we control of with our Blood. The Golems are our Flesh and Blood separated from us.
Nayru9572 18th May 2018, 4:33 PM edit delete reply
When did we do that? We make the golems in the red before pulling them out. I can't recall ever modifying them once they were out of the red.
Skullrama 18th May 2018, 4:35 PM edit delete reply
Perhaps I'm not remembering correctly, but when we first made a flesh golem, we were not able to portal things to it.. it's just meat we made in the red, so we don't consider it us. However, we were able to give it our eye, which we DO consider part of us, and it was explicitly stated that the rules for the golem itself and our eye on the golem worked differently.

I don't recall a time when we actually gave a golem extra mass directly from the red after it had been put together, rather then pulling meat out of the red ourselves and adding it manually. Did that happen?

And, if we want an humanoid Golem taht looks human, it isn't really a problem.
If we put a bunch of mini-humanoid golems in the Trade Ritual, we get a Mini-Jane.
If we put a bunch of humanoid golems in the Trade Ritual, we get a ...

Let's make a bunch of imperfect humanoid golems and trade them.

EDIT: And aren't the "Eggs" we are placing everywhere with our "Bug" material extracted from our Red?
Skullrama 18th May 2018, 4:42 PM edit delete reply
No, those are small bits of the Bug itself, left behind on purpose - if we leave too many, there will be no more Bug left. The Bug is able to transport between them because we consider them part of the Bug.
Skullrama 18th May 2018, 4:50 PM edit delete reply
Uh, interesting thought though... given the rules about perception on this, if we bled a little and made a new Bug, it probably could NOT transport to this Bug's eggs, as we would consider it a 'different bug'.

However, if we made a puddle of blood and made several Bugs from it, we could easily consider them all the same 'family' of Bugs. Could they then teleport to each other's eggs? Would that work?

Edit: Even better, if we started using this family, then placed our original bug with them and lost track of which one it was, making it just part of the family in our perception... would it now be able to teleport to their eggs and vice versa?

Send Dr. Finch with the bug scanner, Fuse, Michelle (in case of trouble) and Mini-Jane to the hummer. Mini-Jane can check for trigger-bombs like the engine hood and doors and whatnot. If nothing immediately triggers Fuse/Michelle (whoever is most savy) can check for bombs that'd go off if the vehicle is started/moved. Then if that's safe Dr. Finch can scan the vehicle. If all goes well, we take the hummer back.

While that's going on, move the blood bug into the book room both to check it out and get it out of sight. Dividing our focus is how we lost Clyde so Jane should try to stick to one task at a time.

That's another reason to trade bioporinters aside from getting the best technologie to repair our own wounds.
We can print out a whole person, fill it with our blood and we have a working golem.

To do now
Ask red somestuff
"Buy" some guns.
to do later
Talk to peice
The bohiem 18th May 2018, 4:13 PM edit delete reply
And get every one in all the bunkers to check on them.
Skullrama 18th May 2018, 4:14 PM edit delete reply
We should probably try to settle on a plan and follow through before the day crawls past us.

I say we grab the scanners, make ourselves a terrible driving monstrosity, and have Dr. Finch, Michelle and Liz head out in our car. Drop off the driving creature with the hummer keys, and have it start driving the hummer to a low key meeting point... maybe try to have a Raven watch for tails, if we can manage that without the golem crashing.

If we get it to a more neutral location, scan for and remove bugs and trackers. Then Finch can head home in our car and Michelle/Liz can take the hummer to purchase our piles of guns.
Nayru9572 18th May 2018, 4:34 PM edit delete reply
It might be a good idea to send a golem with a scanner in first regardless of who or what else we keep on standby nearby to actually drive the hummer.

Could we externalize our Red from an "egg" dropped from Jane? Might be useful to have another person we consider a part of ourselves.
Skullrama 18th May 2018, 5:07 PM edit delete reply
We probably could. Could we do it without making the externalized Red a terrifying monstrosity of extra limbs and mouths? ...Less certain.
