You hide your bug behind one of the pews, and you turn your attention to your dead rat.

It is... not salvageable. The rat has been utterly crushed, and is now no more than a pile of flattened viscera on the tunnel floor.

You try to perceive through what's left to see what killed it.

It's... big. Really big. Large enough that it blocks out the tunnel lights. You can't get a good look at it--because of the darkness, the rat's position, and the rat's lack of eyes--but whatever monster crushed the rat is definitely massive.

...and definitely a monster.

And definitely right under the church.


You confirm to the rest of your allies that Clyde is dead.

Well, that's no good. We should probably be more careful... Let's set a blood alarm for if one of the rats get startled.

Sadly we can only set one bloodalarm not several.
We could have put one on Clyde but not on all rats since thats basically 5(now only 4:() separate bloodalarms.
Though, due to our constant training maybe we are now able to set additional bloodalarms.
Would at least make sense, beginner can only set 1, then after a bit of training you can 2 and in the end and after several levelups you can set as many as yqu want.
By this admittedly videogamelogic we could maybe put a few points into our abilities.

Hmm. Do any of our allies have ideas on how we can dislodge the monster? We *miiiiight* not want to have it right there when we're attempting the rescue mission. Even if it will only distract it temporarily or impair it, better to have something we can do to get it out of our hair before we go in for the rescue.

On the bright side, I guess we should be glad that we now already know the monster is huge and in position. It would've gone very poorly if we had raided the place today under the expectation that it wasn't ready yet.
On the less-bright side, this means we'll have to deal with the thing if we want to approach (or escape) the church via the tunnels... especially with Griz in tow.

That leaves the unknown threats in the vents, and unknown threats protecting the front door.

Though he is dead might we be able to use the body in a way? Convert the remains into another meat bug or some other useful golem?

I thought we could only convert living cells and things made of the red. There probably isn't anything salvageable as the blood is too diluted with rat blood to be reused.

Turn Clyde into a golem. Maybe try to bone spear the monster, though we don't have much mass to do that with.

We have all the mass we want. Just not right there. I suspect a spear will do little besides piss it off.

We need a truckload of liquid nitrogen.

We can percieve through the remains on Clyde. We should create a bug golem or "egg" because we can combat this thing right here if we wanted to. It might be better to try making a "slime" and moving it to as protected of space there is down here.

We don't know if Clyde was attacked due to motion, sound, heat, outright vision, or simple accidentally crushed due to the monster being restless and moving some.

Caution is paramount.

I suspect we will need 10% of the mass Thale has invested in order to be effective. That is going to translate to several hundred pounds of mass. This is based on taking over Elizabeth with just a few cc of blood knowing that Thale had invested quite a bit more printed blood in her.

We could stop it early... maybe. Be one hell of a boss fight.

Use whatever remaining blood from the splattered rat and attach it to the monster. That should allow us to track the monster should it move/get loose or start it's attack. Maybe set a blood alarm.
