You have your bug wander over to a dustier section of the floor and roll around in the dirt. Now covered in dust, it looks a less conspicuous brown instead of a bright blood red.
You also test to see if you can have your bug crawl up walls. You can, though not by anything unique to the bug--you simply use the same ability that lets you guide your needles to... well, stick your bug to the wall. You suspect that sticking to the ceiling may be better for sneaking around than staying on the floor is. However, the crack at the top of the door isn't as pronounced as the space under the door, and this is likely consistent with most doors.
You don't have any way to hear with your bug. A tympanal organ wouldn't be difficult to replicate, but you don't have enough material to form a brain to translate vibrations to--
you realize that your bug's tiny eye isn't really attached to anything, nor does it have a brain to translate visual signals for it. ...But it still works. You briefly begin to question it, but shake it off, instead realizing that this should mean you can do the same for hearing. You give your bug very tiny hairs to pick up vibrations with--you'll just use your own brain to interpret the vibrations into audio.
You have your bug peek under the door.
There's two guards, but they're not stationary. They wander through the hall, sometimes crossing paths, sometimes heading upstairs or through the exit to the left. Sneaking by them would take solid timing, but it shouldn't be hard.
You consider various options for your rat--maybe a way to counter-act poison or the like. However, without knowing what's actually in the ventilation shaft, it's difficult to determine a perfect defense.
Instead, you send your rat to find the nearest entrance to the tunnels. You suspect there has to be a way from the tunnels into the church itself.
Yes, we'll want to try and make our way downward rather than upward to try and meet the rat in the tunnel. Even if we don't find Grizwald, we'll still need a stealthy way in anyways with finding Grizwald and/or Thale's monster just a nice bonus to that goal (even if Grizwald isn't here yet we know he'll be here eventually).
...That's a really good theory. And if the Red fills the gaps... We may put our own brain in our Red, where it's safe, and it may continue working as if it where in our head.
In the future, I want to test this with less important organs and body-parts XD.
Would a bug-sized cardboard box be a matchbox? We totally need a Soliton Radar.
If it helps Jane, this isn't you manipulating a part of yourself in someone else, this is you manipulating YOU. That's all you there, even the meat and organ(s) is completely you.
It's like making a hand-spider and having it take a stroll. Still connected to and a part of you but you're just treating it like a separate entity for funsies.
Well... This time is different. This isn't a body we are controlling with our Blood. This is an extension of our body in all sense of the Word. I think we can pull material of our Red to make this thing grow, or make more of this things from it's body. And since it is a Piece of meet of our body, and not the body of other, we don't need it to "Stay Alive" to control it.
True in every sense. It's not... alive... as it is, it's just...... us. Pro, we can do almost anything with it. Con, ...I've got nothing here.
If someone stomps it, delay, then regenerate when not seen. If we need a spy cam set, build a new eye, drop, and move on. If we need to blood a target, this thing is still 100% Jane (minus the dust), that may well be an option. Just sprout fangs and inject. (Note of caution: Bug`s not large enough to out blood Thale.)
And after that, go to the open room in the left. Let's search on this floor before going to the next.
Something dawns on me though: Perhaps this is how Jane's 'brain' works? It's not actually there; the blood fills in the gaps.
Let's try not to ponder that too hard.

Could use a tranq gun though...
